But at the same time, it kinda is making sense...
Well, it is the right idea to put the character here to state that it is ridiculous ^^ Some jokes are losing their impact if nobody counters them.

Yeah, I like to make my characters either really bizarre or really frickin stupid. Penny's like a combination of those two.
I don't like making bland and simple characters not only because they bore the audience, but because it bores me to draw them, as well.
Sometimes, coming up with original jokes is really hard. It was especially hard to make a funny original joke out of a deformed apple from another universe of all things.
But after reading a lot of Shonen JUMP manga, I start to get the hang of making stupid and random jokes (Thanks Oda!)

Ah yes, Oda makes great jokes in One Piece. Like I said, normally you have to have the counterpart...
Another great example is Gin Tama, the snow figure contest. Where the main characters were making a figure that totally resembled human genitals, but it was some kind of rocket. One of the characters was thinking the obvious, like the reader should, but every other charakter got to it and said "Oh, it is this rocket." and the reaction of the character was priceless. Ah, I don't remember which one it was. But that is dirty humour done right.

They might not be able to summon the Apple Guardian, but they can always summon a Salt Guardian if they have a fear of snails or something.

Well, technically, there isn't really a food out there that'll help you avoid school.
But I guess you can eat dirt or something so that a Dirt Guardian will make you sick so that you won't have to go to school (don't do that btw)
