Description
Lani the nymph; a character from an RPG game idea called The Legend of Atlas I invented back in 2001. Here, Lani is pictured standing in Malar Blushire, the enchanted forest, and location of her nativity.

As a child I first read about nymphs in a book called "Greek Myths," which served as a kind of children's introduction to its namesake. The book described nymphs as being naturally beautiful and "very feminine," and as a kid, I didn't realize that "very feminine" was this kid's books way of saying "very sexual." Therefore, I always perceived nymphs as embodying the characteristics typical of little girls, and Lani is exactly that. Like the book's description, Lani is very naturally beautiful, but in keeping with my own ideas about nymphs, Lani is very little girly. She is joyful and playful and innocent. Despite the obvious allure she has on men, she seems to be blissfully unaware of her own sexuality. Ultimately, I feel an excerpt from Lani herself (from the story's screenplay) can best summarize the character:
LANI- ...Lani is naturally scented like perfume, because Lani is a nymph. All nymphs smell pretty and look pretty and like pretty things. That’s what mommy says...Nymphs are girls that come from the forest, and mommy says we are all just pretty and sweet as can be.
Lani is a child of the forest. She was found by the queen of a village called Venus (in which all of the inhabitants are female) in Malar Blushire as a baby and was summarily adopted by the queen and raised to be her daughter (hence why Lani keeps referring to her "mommy" above).
Lani has light green skin and green hair and eyes because, for some reason, I just always imagined nymphs that way. She is a character I am very fond of.
