Description
The main characters from a scifi/fantasy RPG game I made up back when I was about 18. It's loosely based on the lost city of Atlantis myth. In The Legend of Atlas, a floating kingdom of enlightened/magical people called Atlas existed in this strange, other world back in the year 12,000 BC. An evil aristocrat named Janus summons a specter called Apocalypse, which is the amalgamation of all evil and enmity in the world, (cast back upon the people tenfold) and destroys the kingdom; however, a young nobleman named Ziegfreed manages to retreat to the earth below. As the sole survivor of the now lost kingdom, Ziegfreed sets about recreating his beloved kingdom on earth, and endows many earth people with wisdom and magic. The story then fast forwards 24,000 years into the future, in which we are met with a hideously corrupt city called Megalopolis in the year 12,000 AD. The story then follows the descendant of Ziegfreed, a 12-year-old orphan boy named Kashi, who unknowingly wields the magical blade Zinfandel that belonged to his forebear. And from there, it centers around Kashi's exploits in learning about his heritage and setting out with a party of allies to uncover the mysteries of the lost kingdom of Atlas, and, later, save the world from a mad scientist named Johan Yakra who seeks to resurrect Janus. Pretty standard RPG stuff. I first began conceiving the story around summer-fall 2001, and finally set down a sort of "screenplay" for the game's dialogue in 2013. I don't intend to ever actually make anything of it, I just put it to print for my own enjoyment, since the ideas had been floating around in my head for the better part of 12 years, and I was happy to finally witness them come to life. Featured in this drawing are the various heroes, from left to right: Kashi, descendant of Ziegfreed, holding the blade Zinfandel; Toki, an orphan girl and bandit who resides in the desert; Mungel, a teenaged mage from the kingdom of Neo Arcadia; Balfour, a magic, talking tiger; Lani, a young nymph who is the epitome of sugar, spice, and everything nice; Rosetta, a melancholy knight who mourns a lost love that she failed to protect; Dameon, a half-man, half-vampire who has made it his mission in life to protect mortals, although he is aware they will never accept him; Russel, a macho marine colonel with a massive ego; and Lola, a former prostitute who hires Russell on as a bodyguard in the beginning of the story, only to mistakenly think Kashi is her bodyguard. I'll very likely be posting more pictures of these characters in the near future.
