Description Part 2: Frankfurt [link]
Part 3: Munich [link]
Part 4: Amsterdam [link]
Part 5: Nuremberg [link]
This is a piece for my final bachelor series based on my explorations and experiences of Germany and a look at the German urban landscape.
Cities often develop in a very 'organic' way, especially cities as old as Hamburg, which is why I have chosen to represent Hamburg in this way. It is a creature built on the back of its heavy industry, especially its Dockyards where some of the largest ships in the world have been made.
It would be very easy to leave Hamburg thinking it is a rather ugly place - the main train station where I entered it is right next to the docklands. But upon exploring it I found it has some of the most beautiful Architecture I have seen to date. Architects here seem to have an obsession with defying gravity - hanging buildings out unsupported over water for example.

The water, fog and ice is simply because this is the state I saw the city in during December and I wish I had gone there during the summer months.

Stock by yours truly, mostly shot in and around Hamburg, although some of the mechanical pieces actually belong to a sugar cane mill and an oil refinery back home in Australia.

Photoshop, C4D and a bit of Corel Painter.

Edit: Thanks for the DD!

The first time I saw this deviation was like... Oh a boat... but then I looked again xD
One thing I like of watching deviations, are the descriptions overall I like to know how the deviants made their creations and so on; that´s the first thing that catch my attention and yours did it e.deviantart.net/emoticons/let… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Lick)"/>.
The interpretation of an organic city was like wow hehe, the ilumination the smoke the sky and the ice are asome components in your deviation, every piece of the "city" is well placed but I think it should be a little compact... some pieces really don´t fit in some places or are overcut (sorry if that´s not a word)like in the front leg of the city... the column looks like is over it but not on it, do I explain?
But an example of a nicely placed piece is the clock over the leg it fits perfectly.
In conclusion the composition is asome the lights the smoke, everything some points look a little forced but anyway it looks amazing.
Also the concept and the representation of a city in this way is really admirable.
Keep like that... and if something i wrote isn´t well placed well... sorry hehe I don´t speak english too much
Take Care and keep the good work on.

This is incredible, it's like an updated industrial version of Archigram's Walking City (with a bit of Howl's Moving Castle thrown in for good measure!)

Beautiful work!

This reminds me of the stuff I used to see (WAAAAAY back when) in "The Amazing Archigram." A very cool bit of architectural amalgam - I find these kinds of things fascinating. Sort of Escher-esque in a way.
