Description Beedrill are dangerus.

They live in large hives built from wax that they make from their mouths, the hives can grow to the size of skyscrapers, but mostly they grow inside deep caves etc.

They have many levels of authority ranging from worker to soldiers to the Queen. the solidier protect the queen, her offspring and the kakuna viciously.
No one has ever gotten close enough to see the Queen...

They attack anything that isnt part of the hive, stinging it with their large 'javalins'. Their hand spikes dont have poison in but trust me you wouldnt survive it one of them stabbed you. The tail barb does, and can cause near instant death if stung.
Beedrill can switch poisens in their tail and produce a comatosing liquid so they can carry their prey back to the hive. They cannot eat things filled with poisen you see...

Most areas that are filled with Beedrill are cornered off but Beedrill move their hive occantionally and will turn up in a place populated by people.

About ten years ago there was case where a hive popped up in the middle of a city. the whole city was evacutaed but three people died.
It takes either a hell of a lot of Max Repel to get rid of these things, or strong fire pokemon.

Hope you like it

awesome pattern design, i especially like the pelt around the midsection
also i was wondering, can a trainer tame these in the evo universe?

You could have left it at "Beedrill are dangerous" And had an accurate description

But still, I love it. All of these that I've seen so far are awesome~~

Is the queen a Vespiquen? Because i find it an interesting concept to have these creatures work for a Vespiquen. Maybe the Weedle help the Combe while the Kakuna hang from the hive ceiling, being taken care of by the Combe.

sadly no, they are separate species, beedrill leaning more towards the wasp family and combee more towards hunny bees. they have separate hives

damn, i wonder if a vespiquen and a beedrill have accidentally bred, that would be cool, i might add it into the story i'm writing. Anyway, do u have any hive fakemon, i have a mosquito pokemon and i like the thought of hive pokemon.

It is a little difficult to recognize as a Beedrill because of the drastic differences in design.

true i based it more off real wasps, so the stripes are thinner and it has a few black bits on its face but id say the actual design is pretty recognizable?

vespiqueen isnt related to beedrill, they are a sperate species. Vespiqueen is like a hunny bee, and beedrill are more like wasps.

this is cool. i thought i had favorited this one but it turns out my double check of your evo gallery proved me wrong. a while ago i got really into the bug pokemon. they are now in my top 5 favorite types. (the favorites tend to fluxuate every know and then) beedrill are one of my faves next to ninjask, yanmega, scizor, and venomoth. anyway im done talking you to death so all i will say is good job and leave it at that.

Wow! Splendid beedrill! The picture is wonderful, great patterns and markings, and a great improvement on even a not-so-toony pokemon. The writing is good too. But if nobody's seen the queen, now do you know there is one?

Also, isn't beedrill's spear poisonous? I remember pokemon getting poisoned after getting hit by Twinneedle. But I guess it wouldn't make sense for beedrill to have poison glands in its legs.

These things remind me of those space bees in The Sting. I bet they're just as dangerous too.

JoshuaDunlop In reply to Octoboy-the-8th [2009-04-15 21:45:38 +0000 UTC]

Because research suggests their is a queen. Ive never seen The Sting?

Octoboy-the-8th In reply to JoshuaDunlop [2009-04-15 22:11:45 +0000 UTC]

Futurama episode. The bees remind me of your beedrill. Deadly sting, which can kill instantly.

What is this research you speak of? Probing? I mean, how can you research something you can't approach?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JoshuaDunlop In reply to Octoboy-the-8th [2009-04-16 08:55:19 +0000 UTC]

1: you can research symilar species. 2: you can attach tracking devises to beedrill to observe inside the nest, just cos no ones ever seen the queen or literally been inside a hive, doesnt mean no one has ever SEEN inside a hive.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Octoboy-the-8th In reply to JoshuaDunlop [2009-04-16 15:07:56 +0000 UTC]

Yep, I guess bugging would work. Though I'm not sure observing similar species is always the best bet. I mean, that one species could be the exception. That's one thing I wonder when I read about extinct animals. If all we've seen is a hand, then could there be some bizarre feature that just didn't fossilize?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JoshuaDunlop In reply to Octoboy-the-8th [2009-04-16 16:49:03 +0000 UTC]

thats true, but we'll never truly know. Tho we are now cloning extinct mammels like smilodons and mammoths, but they wont be properly ready for about 60 years

I imagine that Beedrills are one of the few insects to have bones similar to reptiles, fish, mammals, etc. Those bones are the stinger and the arms spikes....

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JoshuaDunlop In reply to Ud-the-Imp [2009-04-10 16:21:17 +0000 UTC]

Well actually its not 'bone' at all. Its very similar to real bees or wasps, just a great deal harder.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JoshuaDunlop In reply to jyejyebinks [2008-04-18 13:02:22 +0000 UTC]

well im going to do them as 2 seperate species, beedrills being more like wasps and vespiquen being more like honey bees

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

jyejyebinks In reply to JoshuaDunlop [2008-04-18 14:22:19 +0000 UTC]

yer its wierd dont you think, beedrill has the word bee in it, and vespiuen has some sorta french word thingy that means wasp or hornet, so wouldnt it be the other way around, and im making a region were all bug types are roylty, and the 8 gymleaders use one, so the bug types are like bug/fire ect.

JoshuaDunlop In reply to jyejyebinks [2008-04-18 21:46:33 +0000 UTC]

ok, i have the ranks. apparently, it probably sucks to be any type of bee... droens die early and are weaklings, workers have so much to do and are commonly killed by queen, and queens are the center of the entire hive and are stalekd by dornes.
