Description Kakuna are cacoon states of weedles.

When the Weedle eat enough they return to the hive and become Kakuna, wrapping themselves in a hard shell made from their silk. They return to be protected by the Beedrill through this crucial time of change.
They are very symilar to Metapods as they attach themselves to things using strong silk.

If weedle get lost, sometimes they turn into Kakunas in trees and caves, these are usually when they get caught by trainers.
It is FAR safer to catch a Kakuna and evolve it than catch a live Beedrill.

As they can still use attacks such as harden etc they are still classed as a pokemon, however they are pretty useless in battle.

Hope you like it.

I dunno about this one. Kakuna looks more like one of those pupal-stage insects which look like the adult form folded up than a pupa wrapped entirely in a cocoon (name aside). This one doesn't really have that feel, due to, of course, the interpretation that that's all silk. I've seen images of wasp nests, and if I remember correctly, the comb is covered in silk like a cocoon, with the folded adult-like pupa inside. Though that isn't what kakuna does, but I still think kakuna looks too close to beedrill to be entirely encased in a cocoon.

Eeeh, nasty little things. Sorry, I was never a wasp fan, but they have an interesting hierarchy. (sorry, my spelling is bad, I am on a Firefox-less computer for the time being). Fantastic job, and I REALLY like that background, it goes so well.

I like the idea of the Beedrill guarding them, and I like how your shading suggests the Beedril growing inside.

This image is great. Although I would prefer a Butterfree over a Beedrill any day, they seem to be more protective than Butterfree.

Thanks :3
The sprite for kakuna in Red/Blue indicate that it did have sword/scythe arms. Where they've disappeared to is anyone's guess.

yer, maybe beedrill was originally going to have swords on its arms?

O: this looks really cool! Oh yeah I always wondered would you consider a Vespiquen to rule over beedrills and what not? ?___? cause i always wondered that lol

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JoshuaDunlop In reply to megadio26 [2007-07-05 14:33:35 +0000 UTC]

no, vespiquen is going to live in a different colony, Beedrill are more like the wasps of the pokemon world, The others are the honey gatherers
