Description This time I tried my best to keep it simple. Though it was hard, every time I took the bush in my hands I felt deep urge to ad random streams all over the place , splash some random red everywhere. But I had decided to have clean-ish lines and simple background.

But yeah.... since I love color explotions, you'll see later what my repsessed urge vomitted after I got this painting ready.

So, more Garak/Bashir for you nice folk!
I'm still terribly surprised there isn't any more of it. When I think about this pairing, it's quite obvious that it's one of "the big thigs" in the whole ST-fandom in any case. You know, if Kirk/Spock is the biggest thing, Garak/Bashir the biggest of DS9 surely, and it might be biggest after K/S. Or at least in the Top 5 list, if you feel I'm exaggerating.

Still there's great lack of art. I dunno, there's quite little DS9-art in general, if compared all the TOS/TNG art around. I'm not completely sure about why is it, but could it be that DS9's fanbase has greater number of males?
It is a generalisation, but rather true one anyways, that fanfiction and slash fanfiction/art is mainly done by women. DS9 seems to be more serious with credibility science and other space stuff that in stereotype attracts more men, when other Trek-stuff leans more towards charactersoap in scifi surrounding, which, again in stereotype, interests women more.

But hey, that's just few random thoughts I've come up with, nothing serious. Don't take it as an men vs. women kind of statement, just thinking out loud. And there certainly is quite huge amonth of fics around there, I don't know why art is in the minority here.

Maybe I should sometimes try to stick into issue at hand in the desricptions xD Sorry, I have tendency to babble.

I actually don't remember that episode too well where I took the reference for this embrace. It was some sort of mindgame/dream sort of thing where Sisko and Bashir where run throught this simulation of things to reveal how they would react in a situation like that and in that fake-thing Bashir had Garak die in his arm.

Seriously, I dunno why I cannot remember specifics about that episode. Not even the name, gosh I'm such a bad Trekkie today. But I did took the reference from there. At first I was planning to do just that, but then my inner romantic took over, and I wanted this to be cutesy and full of love. So I changed it into a nosekiss. And Bashor looks like he's sitting on Garak's lap. Which for reasons obvious, is a huge turn on for me xD

That should have happened for reals xD

And I enjoyed way too much painting Garak's clothes.
Went with kind of cartoony-look, because too much realism just kills my interest. Why did I paint figers like that? For no reason. Simply. No. Reason.

Acrylics on canvas. For sale, if you're interested etc.

oh!! that is very lovely! Garak has a gorgeous, colorful glow about him. You got the gestures of the pose down really well. I wanted to do something more like that with my picture. Body gestures are difficult! This looks so intimate and sweet.

guhh I feel your pain. I hate being deep in a fandom that isn't as productive as I need it to be. I hadn't thought of different numbers of the genders watching the different series, and now I'd like to know what the stats are. I had always figured men watch ST far more, but then again, every Trekkie I have met has been female, though as you said, they are usually interested in the emotional, drama stuff. I love that too, but I adore good sci-fi. I can't comment on DS9, still haven't gotten to watching it yet ((I gotta really be in the mood to watch things or I can't pay attention lol) but I hate the fake sci-fi in TNG. Sometimes it's engaging but often it's just annoying techno babble. As I like to say to anyone who will listen, the science and math in Futurama is far more realistic and intellectually engaging than in a lot of Trek. lol

how much would you sell this for, just out of curiosity? And how big is it?

I agree, body gestures are hard! I'm not good at those without good referenses. But I try my best to give them my own twist. I really like to make Cardassian skin blue/green/purple even if it really is just grey. Just like I make my Vulcans and Romulan green no matter what.

I hate to make assumptions about genders, but what I've noticed that male Trekkers are often those who remember really small details about every episode and built models of different ships or learn Klingonese. Women tend to be very active writers, doesn't matter if it's shipping or general stories. Strereotypes are stereotypes, but you know. I do think that generally pseaking Star Trek has different things that can attract, so it's really possible to meen Trekkie that likes ST for completely different reasons.

Must say this one is bit expensive due to it's size which is bit wider than A4. 70 e + postings, I dunno what that is in dollars xD

oh my, well that's way out of my price range, not that that isn't a very good price, though. I'd love to sell my stuff, but I never know how to price it or if anyone would even want it! Your painting is really beautiful, though. I'm jealous haha

I used to be too scared to take liberties like that, but what the hell, why not? It's part of being expressive! I've always wondered why Spock seemed to be the greenest of the Vulcans/Romulans, even though he's half. I kinda wish they'd all have greener skin anyway, and even the ones with dark brown skin should have a faint green tint to it. oh how pretty that would be!

Usually my paintings are out of price range of everybody. But I have to ask something or I'd be giving them free xD

I love taking liberties on stuff, at least when I know the fandom well enough to explain why I do things like I do.

I kinda understand why Romulan/Vulcans have darker skin tone after TOS, because that actually makes more sense than them being really pale white like Spock. Isn't Vulcan like 90 % desert xD But I would love them to be more greenish. Oh well, I'd like ST aliens to be a lot of things, for example, I don't get how Cardassians can have hair, they're lizards xD

ah well, you don't want to undersell yourself, esp if someone comes along who can afford your price!

Spock is just special xD the green is his passion all pent up, ready to explode. He's obviously unwell xD

haha we can't have a humanoid without hair! But yes that is a little odd. I do love them for that reptilian look. Totally sexy!!

Indeed, you said it. And you know, maybe someday when I've made loads of stuff people will want to buy everything with good prizes xD Maybe I'll be famous xD Haha, or maybe not. But paintings usually just get prizier trought time, no matter how good or bad is it, so all I need to do is paint and wait xDDD

Well, I guess it would make a lot sense if Spock was actually very sicklish xD I mean, how healthy can a mix between two races so different be. I bet he was sick all the time when he was kid. And when it comes to Cardassians, I like to think them in my head even more reptilian than they actually are. In my personal headcanon they lay eggs and all that stuff, just because I happen to think it's cool.
