Used a screencapture from the episode Wire to get some sort of idea of realism. Because unfortunately, I'm unable to do somewhat natural facial propotions without a reference. Should practice on more I guess.And then Garak kissed his Julian, ravished him on the spot and everybody lived happily ever after.
Come on you silly Bashir, don't be so coy, it's what you want anyway.
Seriously speaking, in most of the episodes they stand so close to one another that they could easily feel if other has a phaser in their pocket. I mean, has anyone *ever* stood so close to someone's face when you're supposedly *not* intimate with?
And if you're interested to see how I waste more time, I've just finished my second Garak/Bashir fic in English. Check it on ff.net or Doctor, Tailor at LJ. But mind you, English is not my native, and I write weirdly in my own language, so general oddity warning is in order.
You know what? I just saw I dream where they made DS9 TV-movie where Garak and Bashir end up in a bittersweet relationship, as the situations forced them to separate. Sweet sad romance. Never felt so disappointed when I woke up and it wasn't real

No hekoheko joo xD STar Trek ufoissa on vaan se hyvä puoli, et ne on mitasuhteiltaan 90% tapauksessa niinkun ihmisiä. Vähän jotain otsa/nenä/korva härpäkettä ja siinä se on. Joo, sellasiahan ne avaruusolennot on ihan varmasti oieesti. Englantiakin puhuvat kaikki.

No STar Trekissä nyt *periaatteessa* yritetään selittää se miks suuri osa alieneista näyttää ihmisiltä sillä perusteella et maailmakaikkeuden ensimmäinen humanoidilaji meni pitkin avaruutta ja muunsi alkukantaisten elämänmuotojen DNA:ta niin että ne pyrkivät kehityksessä samankalatiseen muottiin.

Well, the hand was my add to this thing. But they did held hands in that very same episode. Originally this scene was in a middle of heated argument where Garak basically declared that his only reason to live is Bashir's loveliness (you'll see what I mean eventually.)

In in Star Trek world helding hand seem to be more intimate than kissing. Like, Kirk or Riker are very easily kissing folk aroun, but helding hands - well that hardcore in this world xD
Seriously, if Beverly Crusher/Picard is considered canon, Garak/Bashir should be too, since there's almost more indications towards G/B than Crusher and Picard ever.

oh yes, and we can thank the Vulcans for all that hand porn! And you're right, the heartless womanizing of Kirk and Riker isn't nearly as intimate or affectionate as hand holding, or even some of the gestures the original OT3 share with each other.
Man! I could never see Crusher/Picard!!! Gross! And so forced and fake. I don't like Crusher anyway. And besides, we all know it's Q/Picard lmao. I'm not particularly interested in that pairing, but I'm not blind!
maybe I'm taking so long watching this series because I know it will break my heart to see this romance never play out. Slashy pairings that are supported or teased at by canon are fabulous, wonderful things, but they make my heart ache, too, yearning for just...one...kiss!

Somehow I don't know should I be amazed or creeped that the closest thing to actual on-screen sex is that hand.thing Spock does with that Romulan commander xD And seriously, that's sex, even if it's weird, that's Vulcan sex... umm, handjob? Anyhooo....
I dunno, I don't hate Crusher/Picard from the bottom of my heart, I just find it... well, kinda immature for adult characters. I mean, god, why don't they act on their feeling when they CLEARLY DO know how other has feeling too? It's something you expect from 15-year-olds, not people who have been around quite a while. Especially when they are like best of friends. Come on! In real life, if they did like and care for each other, they wouldn't shy around it for seven seasons and never do fuck about it.
I dunno, maybe in the end i is blessing that the pairing didn't come out n screen, at least now you have the fullfreedom to imagine how it happened all the off cameras and had beautiful happy ending xD

Only thing that's missing from The Wire is direct kiss or declaration of love,and personally I think those happened right after the episode ended. Bashir is so cute not even knowing what he's forgiving, but forgiving anyway <3

Lovely, just lovely. I adore your style, and I think this is one of your best applications of it yet.
Nice composition, and I love how the red tones of Garak's shirt and the color of Julian's skin balance each other, the same with the blue-gray of Garak's skin and the blue of Julian's shirt. It creates great diagonal movement over the piece, keeps the eye interested, and brings a nice balance to it and connection between the two. Nice patterns on the fabric as well, it gives the piece yet another interesting layer.
Don't feel bad about using reference, professional artists throughout history have used reference, and still do today. It's hard to draw something without seeing how it looks. It's certainly possible to draw accurately without reference, but you need a lot of experience drawing from references fist.
Ah, if only your dream had been true! I would love a movie about these two, and bittersweet fits them so well.

I'm pleased to hear color choiches work well, on my own opinion I'm strong at colors and coloring. Good that the composition came oout well, I often feel like my drawings are either too crammed or only half done.
Oh no, I don't find referencing at all bad, key to really great art is to look around, especially other people's art, photographs and such. I'm just little frustrated that even after several years I'm still uncabable vary what I see. Haha, but everything comes down to practice again^^ And I'm easy to put myself down at times because you know, I study arts, so everybody around me is amazing xD But thank you your kindness, eally made my day.
There totally should be a TV-movie about Garak and Bashir, world needs it.
