What? They were *not* gay in the books? *Runs to the bookshelf*Oh yeah, right. It was my fangirlism again haha.
But seriously, when does subtext transform into a intext? Oh well. For me Watson/Holmes is reality no matter what, since even as a small child I comprehended that they just go together so well. At least they do love each other as friends so deeply, it doesn't even take imagination to think the rest^^
Though, I have nothing agaist het-pairings at all, I think it's only probable and lovely that Waston married his Mary and Holmes/Irene Adler surely is intriguing, but for me, nothing beats W/H. I've been thinking my head full which one would be dominant, at first I though Holmes of course, you silly girl! But but... Holmes is rather moody, addicted, bohemian and at least I got some sort of fragile feeling from him. Don't get me wrong, I don'ty talk about the physics, I mean the mental stage. But Watson, he's stable, taking good care, and little stiff. Actually, they are quite much equal, with different overtones in different situations. Gotta love that.

Oh well, Watson *was* the first fangirl of Holmes. I used some plenty of tv and magazine adverts as my references and there the other party is always female, so maybe that's the reason why he came out so girly.
Sherlock Holmes and dr. Watson belong to magnificent sir Arthur Conan Doyle, I'm just doing silly, silly fanart.

o god, so hot! so lovely xD and of course they are a couple, it's practically canon! If the book isn't entirley obvious about it, then that's just because at the time Doyle didn't want to get too much bad press. They are a married couple in my mind, too, and always have been.
I think that Watson would be in the submissive role, too, but they are too complex for just that. Watson is also in teh role of healer and protector and comforter. Holmes takes the lead on things, but he's very vulnerable. Only Watson knows that Holmes is just a man after all, with problems like the rest of us.
nice use of the white gel pen! It looks really good on this. And as always, such beautiful colors and details. I'm jealous of how easy and natural you made the pose, too.

As I've said before, only thing in my mind missing from the original books that would underline their relationship is subordinate clause by doctor Watson that says " and then we made love". Even if there's no sexual aspect their friendship is so deep it's from another planet.
I'm not really sure who would be really the dominant... as Holmes is very moody and unstable really, he needs Watson to keep him sane, so hmm. When game is afoot Holmes o top and when their on vacation it's Watson's turn xD I dunno. I love them together anyway.

But... I completely believe this pairing is what the writer intended.
I've been reading subtext analyses online after reading stories, and there hasn't been ONE without a proper clue. And I LOVE THAT.
I mean, okay, Watson married is fine to me. But there is no other for Holmes. Watson is the ground beneath his feet, the sun in his lonely winter sky, the-

Well that's what I believe too^^ Or, at least, it was a well known fact that Conan Doyle had very liberal view about sexuality for man of his time and it surely doesn't change anything between Sherlock and Watson even if you think them as gay, as it does with so many other pairings in other fandoms. Though, this is just my opinion and it pleases me. Actually, I'm quite sure that Conan Doyle didn't intend anything with his stories, as he didn't view his writings as literature at all.
But omg with Holmes/Watson <3 You said it so well, Watson may go without Holmes, but as Holmes says in the Granada TV_series: he's lost without his secretary <3

I do have fanfiction, but sadly, I write mainly in Finnish, as my English is not strong enough that I dared to write much. I have few Star Treks in english though, in my LJ. But for example my epict 24 Holmes/Watson drabble series is in Finnish and I lack the confidence to translate.
