Description Long ago, a giant factory ship bearing a race of shipbuilding aliens crash-landed on earth. The vessel had mostly survived the impact with her ship-construction facilities and artificial intelligence still sound, but her life-support systems and engines were lost. Without life-support, her crew slowly died off as the years passed.

With no crew to tend to her systems, the a.i. of the factory ship resumed all on-board ship-building functions as normal. Then, like a beached pregnant whale, the ship eventually opened up her belly and gave birth to her 'baby' - a brand new exploration vessel - right on Earth's desert floor!

'Baby' remains attached to 'Mother' via umbilical cords and support cables, through which she faithfully nurtured her infant until the initiation of proper launching procedures, which never came. Eventually, both ships had died when the 'Mother' ship's a.i. and power systems deteriorated and finally shut down.

Thousands of years later, the ruins of 'Mother' and 'Baby' becomes a famous tourist destination, popular with visitors and families who visit the site with their mothers. The monolithic remains of the two alien ships presents a popular and awe-inspiring sight till this very day.

-------------------------------------------
I was going to do this for Mothers' Day but I was a little late, but here it is. This one's for all you women with children out there. God bless you all.

Aww, that's so sad. I'm wondering if humans were clever enough to figure out how the ships worked, they could restore power and bring them alive again.

The details on the ruined hull was really, really fun to do. I thought it would be the death of me, but I couldn't stop once I started it.

As I progressed I find myself zooming in closer and closer, doing finer and finer details until I realized, "Okay. At this rate, it's going to take forever. Let's set a realistic standard." That's why at certain areas the detail level isn't very consistent, but I'm happy with the end result.

A big thank you, my friend It feels really great to know you enjoyed it. It was a pleasure!
