A lot of artists have trouble doing that.
Lucky for me I am only doing technical stuff...since it can be fairly sterile...It may be years before I can manage anything with subtlety to it...as long as I have great examples to go from and pay attention to how other artists are doing things.

This is so weird - yet epic! WOW Love the distorted view too - makes it look errie galore!
What an interesting story too - makes the piece work!

Thanks for the compliment on the artwork. Glad you enjoyed it!
The thing that drove this piece is my recollection of the times in my childhood when I attended several of my relatives' funerals, in which the family - myself including - had to sit through and watch (live) the body being cremated, the ashes collected and finally stored in an urn, before being placed in the temple alongside the ashes of many others, indefinitely. I never liked those funerals; it is traumatic and made me very uneasy for weeks after.
I tried my best to portray those doom and gloom feelings of being surrounded by the ashes of countless long-dead people here in this artwork.

Ouch! Yew.
My sympathies mate.
I see why this works so utterly well - the sense of despair is immence and intence here. There is a lot of passion in this piece.
Well done sir.

Oh my, I'd be rather awestruck, too. At first I thought the giant skeletal remains might have been a sculpture by the designers of the ossuary, but your explanation makes sense.
Have you ever seen some of the photos of the ossuaries in the Parisian Underground? Amazing stuff. Its kind of interesting that here in the US, this sort of careful storage of mortal remains isn't allowed. Rather too bad, since it takes up less room and still permits relatives to pay their respects.
And you do the best stuff with lighting!! The light filtering in from above makes everything look like the interior of a church.

Fascinating stuff!! I never knew there was such a thing! I stared at images of those dead cities for a very long time. Apparently not only Paris, but also in the Czech Republic, Rome and Portugal, too. I'm kind of shocked that necropolises like that existed beneath such sprawling cities. So many corpses. I was dumbfounded and my mouth went dry. Here in Malaysia there are Buddhist temples with burial chambers too, but none whatsoever quite like the Parisian necropolises!
Thanks for the info you shared. That is definitely some cool stuff, I appreciate it.

Pretty awesome stuff! I love the atmosphere to this piece, especially all the subtle touches. You just get a sense that this is a place with a history, and you can't help but wonder what that could be. No doubt Jael is having similar thoughts.
Nicely done. I hope you make more stuff as awesome as this!

It reminds me a bit of the cryostatis complex at the end of Mass Effect

Haha, Little Death was very much inspired by Terry Pratchett, actually. And I love the Death of Rats.
