Description Rafael Nadal is known for his aggressiveness in the court, but off the court he is a very calm person. Am really satisfied with my effort. This is the first drawing in my new sketch book.

Am not a fan of Rafa at all, am a huge fan of Roger Federer. But surprisingly even before i thought of doing a portrait on Roger Federer, i did this portrait of Rafa just for one of my close friend, Karthik, who is a die hard fan of Rafael Nadal. He will be excited to see this drawing that too from me...


But i like Rafa as a person, he is a wonderful human being. After winning the Wimbeldon '08 Grand Slam he said that he couldnt enjoy his feat as he saw Roger crying in disappointment, so Rafa had to suppress his enjoyment, such a great friends they are, i started respecting him then onwards, he thoroughly deserves his No.1 spot in Tennis.

Tools used: 4H, H, 2B, 6B, Mechanical Pencils 0.5mm & 0.9mm, Blending Stump, Q-tips, Kneaded Eraser,...

One of my best drawing...

This is absolutely marvellous. I agree with you, Rafa has so much respect for his opponents, unlike some, and he is very humble especially considering his amazing feats. I adore watching him play, he is like a force of nature. He is just so strong, so intense. He never ever gives up, and in that moment when he scores that crucial point and shouts 'VAMOS!' my heart starts to beat so fast. What a man.

Yes, well, sorry for the swooning. My point is that you captured that moment, the intensity and aggression, perfectly!
I am such a Rafa fan.

This is so well done and you have wonderful skill.
Also thank-you for graciously drawing this portrait of Rafa in his "zone", I am a big fan of his and admire his efforts on and off the court. He is a golden soul!
And I am pleased and thrilled at his number one World Status for he does deserve it.
I also like how respectful he is of his opponents.
But you sir are a true artist, and that is a wonderful gift that you have!

I even respect Rafa.. I like him so much these days.. Earlier I used to hate him just because he beats Federer everytime they meet.. I am a big fan of Roger.. But then I liked their friendship and his court behaviour impressed me..

Great job, you really captured his emotion! I love how you've delineated the clothes with a finer line, it makes the whole image look very sharp. Wonderful piece.

And yes, they're both such lovely people and sportsmen, it's a great thing for the sport to have them both at the top of the game.

Amazing match though i liked the finish, but still i felt sorry for Acususo! He played incredible tennis!!!

I was only able to watch a little bit of it, but I heard all about it! And I guess now I'll be able to put all my efforts into rooting for Rog (Which is both a good and bad thing...I was looking forward to the Rafa/Rog final again, and I kind of think that Roger would get more satisfaction out of winning if he got to play Rafa, but perhaps I'm just being idealistic!).
