Hmm, well, I think the pencils color really nicely. They are also easy to blend so there are not as many "white dots" on the paper as opposed to Crayola colored pencils. I would highly recommend them. (though they are quite expensive, which is why I only own one color c: ) However, Crayola works almost as well (it's like a cheap substitute). I guess the coloring just depends on technique.
As for the outlining pens, Prismacolor is the only brand I've tried so I cannot really compare them to any other brand. They work quite nicely, though (and, depending on usage, can last about one year).
