Description
With the many many hints of a Hoenn remake within Pokemon XY, I decided to try and make the cover mascots of Ruby/Sapphire as Mega evolutions because of personal hype. I have finished Kyorge's design as well, but that will be uploaded later.Mega Groudon
Ability: Iron Barbs
New BST: 100/200/140/90/140/90
Design: I decided to play it safe with the design and pose. It was easier to design him by using the official pose rather than creating some dynamic pose that could leave proportions skewed (aka I was lazy
). The black bits in his armor now permanently glow blue because of its increased power. I added the yellow parts because I felt the original palette was a little too bland for a mega. The curved horns and tail claw spread apart was inspiration to his mega ability being Iron Barbs.Hope you guys like my rendition of Mega Groudon

I like his design, but if he were to mega evolve I think his ability (if it changed) would become something that takes advantage of the sun, or something that extends the lath of time it's sunny for and prevents the wether from being changed exipt by Rayquaza's abilaty

You could have had 'Cholorophyl' for it's ability, the word doesn't work, but it matches Kyogre's.

Actually a pretty cool design. It seems hard to make a cool-looking Mega Evolution for a legendary PokΓ©mon.
Why does it have Iron Barbs, though? I'm sure you have a reason for it, and it's not a bad choice, but most people would probably expect something like a "Super Drought", what with weather abilities getting nerfed and everything.

Thanks! I think the subtle approach was the best decision ^^
As far as its ability, I've wrote the reasoning for Iron Barbs in the "Design" paragraph, it's because of its horns/nails curving outward that cause the Iron Barbs damage. I didn't go with a new fan made ability to make it seem a bit more legit, and honestly Groudon doesn't benefit all too much from SunnyD other than a quick Solarbeam and boosted fire blast (which are special and don't benefit from its enormous attack stat).
I did consider Solar Power (which is useless) and Mold Breaker though, but in the end I decided Iron Barbs would better suit its tanky bulk.

That's true, actually. In fact, Drought's nerf kind of makes Mega Groudon having a similar ability irrelevant. It's usually gonna last for five turns now, anyway. And that's more than enough for Mega Groudon to destroy just about everything.
By the way, I like how its Special Defense got a big boost. It's like some sort of defense mechanism against Kyogre's Special Attack.
