Description The dragon species, called Lun, of my fictional world of Taerth. Lun are a quadrapedal family of saurians, a group of warm-blooded, reptile-like creatures covered in mail (a mix between scales of and feathers) and walking upright. Species names from left to right, top row and then bottom row:

Imperial Sea Lun- largest of the breeds, the Imperial lives in the deep ocean and preys on small whales.
Crested Emerald Lun- arguably the most beautiful, the Emerald lives high in the trees of jungles and pounces on its prey from above.
Pelagos Lun- the Pelagos is the most brightly colored and frequents tropical reefs
Gold Lun- A close cousin of the Jade Lun, the Gold is a rare species bred specifically for battle in the Cormyr empire.
River Lun- often found haunting the waters of the Shen Empire, the River Lun has the mail of it's tail adapted as a rudder, and moves with a grace similar to the smaller otters it resembles.
Jade Lun- The Jade is very adaptable, and is the most commonly domesticated Lun for use in armies.
second row
Common Lun- frequenting most plains of the world, this Lun is very widespread and is the second smallest.
Wraithwind Lun- The only Lun capable of flight, the Wraithwind will slide through low cloudbanks and thick fod, using its superb hearing and sense of smell to track prey.
Lionfire Lun- This Lun was first bred, along with several other pygmy-lun, in the second dynasty of the Shen Empire. Only the Lionfire still exists in large numbers, if the other three breeds still exist at all. It is the smallest and most playful of the Lun, and has grown to be a favorite among wealthy noblemen.
Frost Lun- with two sets of mail, the long thick overcoat and the shorter fluffier undercoat, this Lun is almost mammalian in appearance and stalks the tundras of the world.
Mountain Lun- This lun is stocky and powerful, with an almost black coat of mail and a quiet temperment. They generally hunt in mated pairs.
Sand Lun- This Lun brurrows through the sand as if it were water, pouncing when unsuspecting victems stray to close.
