I was inspired by an actual Luna Moth (Actius luna) that I saved from my neighbor's dogs. It was struggling to fly so I put a piece of paper under it and launched it into the air. It continued to flap its wings and flew off into the forest. I decided to make a sort of cute parody image of one, using the most obvious choice of a pony for the transformation.
Behold, your moth princess of the night!
