Description I was stuck on whether I should post a b/w version or the color. I chose color just because I think the scarf and the feathers are prettier in color. The b/w version is a little less distracting but it doesn't quite show off the feathers right. So.

Obviously this was a work of experimentation. No hairspray this time but the feathers were haaaard to get all aligned right. Seriously. And catching the light so that the eyes showed was a pain in the ass. Pah. My advice to everyone is: do not work with more than one feather at a time, or two, MAYBE. Then again, it depends on how much time and patience you have.

I know that only peacocks (as opposed to peahens) have these fancy-ass feathers. To me, this photo highlights the irony between humans and many non-mammalian animals in nature. That is, women of our species tend to be better adorned, and are generally expected to be by society. I blame the fickle bastard that is Evolution.

This is another lovely one I would be honored to be allowed to turn into a ballpoint portrait. Please?

Thank you. I quite like the composition, too, but the noise/bad quality of the photo kinda annoys me. Alas, one day I will get a new and better camera!

Aww, so pretty, I really like the angle, really shows the face and neck and shoulders ^^ And, of course, the hair and feathers looks beautiful.

Yeah, when I was kid I had a hard time believing that the fancy bright coloured duck was the male while dull graish one the female, opposite from humans ^^

Nowadays men are starting to pick it up a bit, but men's fashion is still nowhere as varied as women's. It's quite a shame, really.

Yeah, and have you tried looking for men's shoes? Most stores don't even have them and of those that do the choice is usually quite small...

Lol, actually I went to this swanky department store in Hong Kong with my dad. We had a coupon and he wanted to buy a pair of leather soled shoes. Oh My God. There were about 20 different black shoes with all these tiny variations and my dad took about three weeks to finally pick one! It was insane. He went to all the different branches of the store. I feel like I know all about men's leather soled shoes now. He explained all the different variations to me, and yet I feel like if I saw a man wearing them I wouldn't even notice.

Well, I don't know about Hong Kong, it may be different there, but here in Canada Malls have mostly women's clothing, they have men's too, but a lot less

Ah. Yeah, I know. Most non-designer stores only carry women's clothes, or maybe a small bit of men's clothes. It's quite sad, really. No wonder so many guys I know have no fashion sense.

I think I have a reasonable fashion sense... for women's clothes in any case (not for men's though)

Yeah men's clothes look all the same to me. What's to have taste in?

I am glad we got to see the Color one. I am sure the B&W is lovely but the color on this is just to comely to be denied.

It's very lovely The only thing I would have to say about the picture is that there does seem to be enough negative space in front of your face, and maybe too much behind your head and feathers. Everything else is very nice

Funny you should say that... originally there was a fair amount of negative space next to my face, but it looked a wee bit too empty. I will meditate on this and maybe update. Thanks.
