I know I'm really not being terribly original with these titles. So sue me. My excuse is that this is from the same shoot as Lace III , hence the need for continuity. *Cough*

Did anyone else watch the latest episode (ep 9) of True Blood? I was literally BAWLING during the ending! Godric was my favorite character on the show, EVER, with Eric now being a close second due to his relationship with Godric. But anyway. Godric basically tore my heart out when he met the sun. I was in utter despair, to put it lightly. Of all the vampires I have ever read or watched, Godric is the only one who ever came close to what I think a vampire should be (I don't know what that says about my ideas of vamps since he decided to meet the sun in the end--but that's a whole other issue). I mean, he was compassionate, moral, strong and his ideas of humans and vampire society were completely spot on. True, he was also a little disconnected, but that is to be expected from someone who's witnessed over 2000 years of history.

I also liked how he was depicted in the show as an almost holy figure, especially when compared to the members of the Fellowship of the Sun. You could even look at his suicide in the end as a sacrifice, since he so hoped for a race of better vampires. Either that, or he thought it would serve as a kind of redemption for all his sins and the sins of his kind. How beautifully tragic is that? I also like to think that the tattoo across his collar bone was an inverted halo. So, if you haven't seen True Blood, go and watch season 2 just for Godric! It is definitely worth it. There aren't many TV shows that have an episode which I 1) rewatch more than once and 2) cry MORE each time I rewatch it. Godric. Is. That. Damn. Cool.
