All change when the warp exploded in the real universe isolating communication between the planetary colonies indefinitely, while the earth suffered the "Unification Wars" on Mars the situation deteriorated to the scale of a conflict that swept all environmental progress until the forests disappear through a radioactive desert devoid of life.
