Haha, pretty much-- This here is the first attempt, I'm sure his design will go through it's paces the more we see of him ^^ The other designs have been tweaked over the years

I made him sorta scruffy because he's in a wartorn part of the planet man shampoo and razors are hard to find. He seems young to me, too, judging by his voice and mannerisms, so he has pretty big eyes XD 

What do you imagine him looking like? ^^

Grey Haired Wash has been replaced with Blonde Wash! There was a scene in season 10 where you could see the back of his head, and it was blonde

What do I think he looks like? No idea on specifics of my own, but I think I can nail down a few changes I would've made from your model, if you don't mind.

hmm...

Well, I would've made his hair a bit less full on the upper-rear and rear-top, but looking at your other sketch of him, most of it seems to be a trick of the viewing angle. Still might've made it a bit less than it is, though.

His eyes might be a bit smaller, more of the skeevy con-artist/street theif look. I don't think he *is*, it just seems to fit better to my mental image of when I think of him talking. Then again, the eyes as you have them do seem to fit the scenes you've done so far-- I think more of the parts where he was whispering to the Lopezes and staring down Locus, so the narrow-eye sneakylook flows naturally from those situations; when I think of what his expression would do in the scenes you did, it pretty much syncs up with yours, and I can see it in a couple other scenes too.

Past that, I don't know much else. Maybe have his nose be less wide? Eh, everything else falls into place. I definitely don't disagree with the probable lack of shampoo and razors.

And with GrayWash, the view of his hair was still from the old days, right? I mean sure, that means it would've started out blonde instead of black, but I think the strain still could've had that effect on him. Hell, even if it was after the incident that we saw his hair, just the stress of living with the aftermath of the incident could've been enough of a drain on his system to cause a change like that.

Don't mind at all, but I feel the need to justify the choices I made so wall of text inbound ^^'

I gave him a bush of hair to emphasize his unkemptness-- again, he's been out in the jingweeds for who knows how long and has more pressing matters to attend to. His hair is not meant to be pretty. 

And in my little world younger people have longer hair XD; 

Big eyes were to make him more genuine. I don't see him as an inherently bad guy, and something about his appearance should suggest that. The rest of his disheveled looks are due to circumstances, not to his own nature. Time will tell though, and I must admit I am weak for the "con-artist/street-thief "idea XD

So it's not to say he CAN'T be disingenuous or scheming, and his look will reflect him if/when he is.

I gave him a broad noes to suggest some sort of ethnicity, because society is cruel and the lower classes are rarely pale. I know Felix himself is not of this planet, but being a mercenary is not entirely typical so I'm guessing he chose that lifestyle out of necessity...possibly coming from a low social strata himself? There may be more than just money keeping him loyal to the rebellion - a pseudo kinship, maybe?

I concede that I'm extrapolating a lot about him, and am most likely wrong about all of it. I do expect his look to change the more we find out about him. ^^'

And it must be said, a lot of it has to do with making him not look too similar to Tucker. XD;

Re: GrayWash - True. Although, I'd expect blonde hair to recede to white as opposed to grey, but that's just me. ^^

To be honest, I really only made him have grey hair originally because he had grey armor, and when you're a nooble like I was at the time and all the characters looked the same, color was all I had to distinguish them. But then I liked it so much I built an elaborate rationale/headcanon to justify it XD Admitting defeat and just making him blonde is also distancing myself from my younger iteration. Which I am all in favor for XD

It must be said, I do miss him having black/grey hair (and the reasoning behind it: that he has undergone a strain that is permanently etched into his appearance) :T It's all very complicated.

3 - I....waver...on my opinion of how Wash is portrayed this season. Granted, it's leaps and bounds better than season 10 was, but, I dunno. It's a sea of conflicting and unjustifiable emotions. Don't mind me XD

I am very glad that he's back to barking orders and threatening people, though >u>

2. That explains why he's so panicky about it.

3. I don't know, I've found what he's done so far justified. But I'll admit I haven't seen the latest few episodes, so I could be talking out of turn. I've found his recent actions to be a deeper look into his more personal mindset, instead of his outer persona as was explored in season 10. Like, even though I didn't like season 10, I saw the purpose for it. I saw why Wash was so whipped around Carolina, I saw why Wash acted like such an idiot around everyone else; and the drastic change that would be necessary for him to take on his 'Season 6 Wash' persona also made sense to me. So the way he's acting in this season, I see has how Wash views and interacts with the world when he doesn't have others to account to, making it different than we might expect. So I'm really glad to have this former Wash back, and I won't complain, but I also see any questions that rise as foreshadowing for something deeper in his personality.

3 - Hhhghbbbllll it's...complicated XD I mean, Wash's previous character arcs make sense in that they have cause and effect and are very logical, but they have just...been poorly executed, which makes it hard for me to accept them.

After the various fumbles with Wash's development, I find myself clinging more to my own interpretation of the character, and believe me I know how pathetic that is. Fans shouldn't deny canon because they don't like it. But I do because I don't and I can't help it. Sorry. 

The way people explain Wash's current character makes perfect sense, so I can't really fault it for that. But that doesn't stop me disliking it. It's too overt, too over the top. I'm all for Wash having a driving loyalty to those he feels earned it, but not to the point of lovingly hand-crafting a BFF helmet. Similarly, I like that Wash is unsure of himself now that he is free from Freelancer and generally has no driving sense of purpose, but I don't like that this insecurity is so obvious to everyone else. I like the concepts, not the implementation. Like I said, it's complicated.  

And I'm just happy he's back to his season 6 self because I just liked his season 6 self best.

3.  As anti climatic as possible. Like the whole Epsilon thing. I understand they didn't want to overshadow Carolina's breakdown, but showing him screaming in the crowd one moment and then waking up all resolved the other..? They could have milked it a little, or at least picked better timing to make it more dramatic. Or even a blackout/flash scene with the suicide could have been perfect. The fandom loves that part, give us something!

The way the chain of command just crumbled and he was forced out of his 'underdog' position and into the snarky leader that we see in season 6. He was pretty lame because I think he lacked personal power, and control. He was easily dominated and he's very submissive/respectful to power. But the lack thereof and the lack of solid control motivated him to be more independent and self reliant. And the constant betrayal by that power led him to be a lot more distrusting and cautious.

True, to a point. But it's not like you're denying the canon development and getting angry or anything. You're not hate mailing RT, you just prefer yours for your own enjoyment. And so do the rest of us. HAHA! Exactly! I get there reasoning behind his development, but I just like a different tone to it. One incident will define him, but it can define him in two different ways. Caboose level love or cautious loyalty. It makes him a stronger character if he's the latter, I think.

I couldn't have said it better! That's just it -- the way they're executing it is unsatisfactory. Too obvious, as you said, and therefor anti climatic. I like my characters dramatic and my male protagonists tragic! Tragic isn't horribly awkward and like an open book.
