Crescent is flamboyant and extra in every way possible. He is dramatic, loud, and proud with nearly everything he does, all in hopes of getting a positive reaction, or just plain old attention. Crescent is well accustomed to controversy and discord, and at this point simply thrives on it.
His mother was 17 when he was born, his father a wealthy, young politician in Korea who got more than he bargained for in the pursuit of an attractive high school girl. Crescent's mother had been on a transfer program in Korea when all this happened, but she was native to Japan. To his mother, Crescent was the ultimate bargaining chip and she used him to get payments from his father to keep her mouth shut to the media and government. Such a scandal would surely destroy his career, and also his marriage that he most definitely had. He agreed to the terms and made sure that the two of them stayed in Japan where he could keep an eye on them and make sure they were far removed from the government he was a part of. He checks in occasionally, but when he does there is no smiling, no joy in seeing his 'son'.
His mother, even as she raised him, continued to con people and attempt to exploit her own youth and beauty as much as she could. Once he was about 8, his mother began leaving him alone more and more often while she partied and entertained her current male target for the evening. She hardly even considered a sitter, as Crescent was intelligent and seemed fine on his own. She was of course loving and caring when she was home, but being alone very, very often had extremely negative affects on Crescent and left him with a fairly serious case of Autophobia.
He had one consistent friend through this life of controversy, though. As he grew up, his mother consistently held meetings with the Mori family to check in and give reports to Crescent's father, who had hired them to help keep an eye on any media activity that might have happened around Crescent or his mother. Crescent never really understood what the meetings were for at the time, but he did get to spend time around Daisuke, quickly forging a bond with them. The meetings stopped over time, but the two kept in contact from time to time and are still good friends.

School changed a lot of things for him, as he figured out how to make more friends and ultimately gain more attention; he'd always been thirsty for attention, and the more he could get, the better he felt. He of course made enemies and had the odd bully here and there, but no problem! His mother paid for self defense courses, which Crescent continues to the present; he practices mostly Bagua Zhang (because he watched Avatar and LOVED airbending).
He was also a drama buff. Any play, any performance, he was glad to participate and put his heart and soul into it. As he grew up a little more, his dashing looks earned him a couple leading rolls and the attention he received was golden and invaluable, but unfortunately inflated his ego quite a bit. His performative attitude only flourished, and now it's to the point where he finds it difficult to turn that switch off. Only when he's alone does it turn off itself...and he can't stand being alone with that person.
When he still found himself alone, he found comfort in the world of streaming. He started out with only a few followers, and that was at least enough to give him a little solace while he played silly games here and there, doing his best to put on a show.

Unfortunately, his father did make those yearly visits to check up on his silenced family, and the paparazzi became curious. Before they knew it, the information he'd been hiding for so long had sprung a tiny leak. The news exploded for about a week; was it true, was it false, was this young man who bared such a resemblance to the senator a bastard child? He of course had enough money to quiet it down over time...but Crescent took every advantage he could from the experience. He himself was followed around regularly for that week, and while he didn't speak a word about his father, much to the paparazzi's distress, he did promote himself and ultimately ride the wave of infamy. His streaming channel exploded, and while his numbers dropped after the scandal was quieted, he's held a strong fanbase ever since and the numbers are crawling back up due to his over-the-top nature and strong comedic energy. He plays anything and everything to entertain the viewers, a true variety streamer.

In the past few years, his mother slowed her pursuits of wealthy, old men at night and began drinking and getting lazy, still trying to cling to her youth that she claims has begun to slip away. Their family was wealthy and well taken care of with a very nice penthouse flat, she didn't need to really work or...do much of anything. She still goes out to party every once in awhile, but her reliance on her son is slowly increasing. She constantly reminds him of how handsome he's becoming, clinging and showing a near uncomfortable level of affection, mostly when she is drunk. Crescent relies on her companionship, too, so he never thinks or says too much about it, even if it is uncomfortable.
Most of the time he's far too busy socializing and spending as much time as he can learning about new people to worry much about his home life.
