Oh but why haha?! Reference pictures are the bread and butter of a great illustrator imho. Drawing out of my own head is oftentimes a dangerous road I find. No you're doing great, never be ashamed!

I find I'm crippled when I can't find suitable reference pictures for what I'm doing. I guess I should say I'm trying to move away from being constrained in my initial conceptualizing by the availability of references.
