I was so afraid doing mine in that style, becouse I´m not that good at it, so I used an other half metallic style using silver as base and unse other colours mixed with water to make it gold
yea I see again that I have a way to go improoving my painting skills

thx. he is quite old now. I've painted him in about 6+ days. now I can do it in 4 hrs. but still 1 of my favorite mini ^^

THX! hmm the wings and shoulder pad was paited as fastest I can. an especially wings in clooser look need more shade at start of feather :<
I think to paint this you need only to blend the paint on miniatures not on wet pallet or anything else try with blue or green color (easiest in my opinion) and paint some mini or base.

Very impressive metal work, mate. It is hard to believe that was your first try.

Yes it's my first try! but I needed to paint chest twice cause was too bright. that was my hardest attempt ever! xX
PS: I found tutorial or color pallet on google (NMM). there is only need of patience.

It's the light pointing that's the hard part. Even on metallic gold I can never get it to look realistic.

I have problem with highlight but I use a little more water when pointing white. and bronze it's easiest part cause you need to blend it on mini thats the secret. only think I have in mind is paint whine in the same direction. try to put your mini near the light source and watch where its blink.

ofc try it on any mini! NMM technique is always something new and fun for painter (it was for me xP ) it took much time but think about resoult

Wow!!! I can't believe this was your first time painting NMM gold! This is really well done, and the only thing I'm not particularly fond of is the parchment, as I think it blends into the model a bit too much. Other than that, there is nothing I can see that is worth mentioning. The wings look great and the sword stands out, the red is very vibrant and the gold is painted to pretty (pardon my french) damn close to 'Eavy Metal standards. 10/5!

Ah parchment I know. its so hard to blend it well or maybe it took me to much time (few hour).I paint so slowly and lost patience xP but I've seen that after take a photo and decided to leave it. I think next time will be much better (cause I have another angel, Astorath) xP

parchment. hardest think is to make them brown but not highlight it with skin/flesh color. I prefer to mix brown +white + gray. vomit brown is perfect. blanched bone with gray or black is good but you need to mix 3 color.
for me, parchment was harder than sword wings or grail..

wings are horrible.. there is 2 ways to paint it. dry brush. or feather after feather... I'm not satisfied of my wings ;< they have not enough blend. but that was my 1st time with wings with that scale xP

I started wings from white background and blend enchanted blue + white in 1b/4w proportion.. feather after feather. next 1/1 and only blue. its simple and easy to practice cause of number of feathers
