Description Yay for creative titles... Anyway, this is the final triptych that came from these sketches:

That a lot of people seemed to enjoy.. I actually had a few s on them which I found strange, but okay!

Original assignment from last semester's painting class was a trip to Home Depot and find inspiration there. All the lines inspired me, along with personal emotional issues I was dealing with.
So the basis behind this is strong, harsh emotions depicted through strong, harsh lines that ease into calmer, happier lines, because my emotions and the outcome of what was going on changed. As a triptych we had to have three related panels, too, so I felt like I was telling a story of my emotional state for the month I worked on this. Can you guess what emotions are shown and what they transform into?

It was very rehabilitating and refreshing. And I find that I am very impressed with this piece, since I generally don't work with form and abstract ideas painted in such a way.

I'll try to remember to get dimensions of each panel. I can't promise anything. The whole piece together is 4' high and 2' wide, with a 3/4" depth to the wood.

Oil paint, liquin, glossy finish - all on birch wood panels

Adore the fluidity of these paintings, and how they also have almost a fractal quality to them. I think the bottom panel could "blend" a little better with the middle one. You have a beautiful strong S curve going through the top through to the middle - it would have been nice to have seen it carried a little more strongly into the bottom one, but maybe thats just me. They're still beautiful.
