It could well be possible that you have the "New Tab Page" extension that replaces the original new tab page with another page in accordance to the application.
To remove this, click on the 3 horizontal bars below the X button (the one that closes the browser), settings, and then click on extensions. There, you'll be able to enable or disable all the extensions you have, or even remove them if you want to.

It's quite simple to use. You only have to import images into the right sections, change some colours to your liking, and there you go. You'll have your own theme in no time.

Because I'm Dutch.
When I installed Google Chrome, it automatically set the language to Dutch. It's now in English, after changing the language settings.

*Now you simply press the install button, which is pretty much the largest button on the page. No scrolling is needed on that page to find the button.
*You'll get a notification in your download bar (bottom of your screen, if correct) asking if it's okay to download and install it. Confirm and wait a moment.
*The theme is now installed and you get an orange bar on top of the page asking if you want to undo the installation. Either press the "cancel"/"no" button or the X of that bar.
The theme is now installed properly on your computer. Enjoy.

Some people are stubborn or just timid. It happens :3 I, for one, am very timid as a person, yet very social on the internet. I find it easier to talk through typing. Others may have it the other way around finding it awkward to ask strange people for help. I can understand that.
That's just my opinion, you may think whatever you want but I'm pretty sure you'll understand and may even think so as well. :3

I'm the same way. If you met me in real life you would never know that it was me. I'm that shy. On the internet I have no fears. No one knows what you look like, how smart you are, where you live, and all over vital info. Which makes it fun a lot of times.
