Description The darkness was so very visible.
No man knows that Infernal, hellish dark
Like a blind man who once plotted fanciful empires
Of men ruling themselves and valleys of dead kings
Thumbs cut off, Joshua and his Israelite hordes
Victorious and thorough in victory.

In tongues not his own he labored, whispered
Ask the darkness for its name and purpose,
Bid it Sta, in Nomine Patris-
Give an account of dark days before time itself
And explain the ways of angels and demons
And that first, terrible choice which ruined
All our loves, ripped man from woman and woman from the world.

Haunted by the angel form of his wife,
Waking up in the dark from a beautiful light
And her face smiling down, he weeps from useless eyes
Which have betrayed him, shackled him to this bed.
Defeated, a king come back and his hero become a
Murderer and a madman, an old poet lifts his voice
Without aid of lyre to call his daughters
And lay down a new story told from the old
To shake the foundations of Time and Space.
