Description I finished this model yesterday January 22th. It took me a whole week to make it. The picture is at a very high resolution. Use the download button.
The template for this model was published originally in the German Disney magazine Micky Maus in 1978 in half a dozen of consecutive issues. That is, each issue contained 2 pages of templates plus instructions. The pieces originally were perforated so they could be taken out without scissors.
This template has a lot of pages and pieces but it is not difficult at all. The main problem I had is that some pieces don't fit exactly. I don't know the reason. There were too many unnecessary flaps that I had to remove and some joint pieces I had to add. I used cardboard for the base.
I am quite satisfied with the result. I built it at half its size but it can be made even smaller without problems because there are not small and detailed pieces. If I were to repeat it, I would fix the template so all the pieces fit, I would add reverse parts for many of the pieces like the walls of the castle, add and remove flaps where necessary, make it smaller, add some details, and make a little diorama. The model is good but with some work it could be made much better.
Author of the model: I don't know. The model was commisioned by the Disney Deutchland for its magazine.
Template: The template can be downloaded from this web . There are templates for more models published in that magazine between 1970 and 1985. To my knowledge, the download of the templates is legal.
Info: 12 sheets of A4 paper, 77 pieces. I printed it in 160 gsm paper at half its size. Template in jpg format. There are instructions with diagrams and texts in German. All the pieces in the template are numbered and the sheets and instructions are clear and well structured.

Thank you. It has a lot of pages and pieces, but it is quite easy to build.

Nice.

Now, make one of Ariel's undersea palace.

I just printed, cut and glued a template I found on the Internet. If you find me a template for Ariel's palace (and it is not too difficult), i can try.

Wow... you weren't joking. This looks like quite a challenge!
But I think you did a great job with it. (besides, I love buildings and diorama. And I love what you have done here!

I hope your niece will love this piece of work. I know I do!

Well, if my niece doesn't like it, I am sure her younger sister will do.
As I told before, it has many sheets, many pieces, but quite easy: no complicated pieces, very clear instructions. My next buildings will be simpler. I found a mosquee and a church that I like, but before I need to make the papercraft I promised to friends.

That's great to hear! For all the hard work you have put into it, I hope someone will really like it!

A mosque and a church? Great!  I'd love to see those, too.
But no matter what you do, I'll take a look at them. You are a lot faster than I am when building (and commenting, too!) I'd love to see what you do and maybe learn from you, too.

Well, first I have to find the templates of these buildings in my hard disk drive, a feat on its own.
I still need to improve and learn myself before somebody else can learn from me, but I appreciate the comment.
And just submitted my last papercut but it is disguised as fractal. Enjoy!

I just saw the fractal papercut, I think you did a great job with it! It was a fascinating concept and I think your digital "glowing" effect really helped to bring out the details.

I do agree with you on trying to find a template, too. I have a folder on my computer but there are so many things inside, it's like a jungle in there. I am afraid to look for things inside sometimes! Either way, I am still looking forward to what you will come up with next. Best of luck!
