Description After cutting my first kirigami or papercut ever (see first comment below), I decided to paint it with watercolour pencils. I think it was the first time I coloured something since primary school.
You can see in the first comment below another pic of this papercut with a concrete background, the white uncoloured version and the reverse of the figure.
Author of the model:
Traditional for the dog. The frame of leaves is authored by Paula Gail.
Template: Two different templates I merged with the Gimp. Dog template is taken from the English Wikipedia article about papercutting, here . Frame template from Paula Gail's blog .
Info: 1 sheet of A4 paper, 1 piece. Printed in 180gsm cardstock. The papercut measures around 20x20 cm.
_______________________________________________________

Info: 1 hoja A4, 1 pieza. Impreso en cartulina fina de 180 gr. La figura mide algo menos de 20x20 cm.

I am sorry to hear that the ink peeled off of the paper. That must have been really frustrating!

What I usually do is print the pattern on a different sheet of paper and tape the coloured paper on the bottom: Natsu Tutorial  That way it doesn't matter if the colours peeled off of the pattern a little bit. You can still fix and add to the pattern without harming the final resulting project. It also means you can choose the type of paper you want to use for the actual "final product" that's taped to the bottom. I started out using coloured paper, but now I use mostly black or red.

I hope this helps!

Thanks for the link to your tuto!
I will try it. I always wondered how people would papercut using black paper when it is very difficult to print on black paper. And the trick was tricky: Don't print on it!

I have my doubts.
Btw, white version has more faves, so I guess more people prefer it.

Maybe it's easier to first print the cut outline, then apply water paint and then cut ???

It is an idea. It is worth a try. I hadn't thought about it. My initial intention was to use the black and red side that I had printed, until I saw the problems I had.
I used coloured cardstock in my third kirigami and I coloured the second kirigami usind a very different solution. You will see.

You can see below: this same figure with a concrete background, the white uncoloured version and the reverse of the figure.

I had printed the dog in red and the frame in black on white cardstock, but the printer black ink peeled off. I tried to fix it a little painting it black and dark green and I coloured some of the edges too.
