Oooooh, okay. I don't have the patience for oils, they're so hard XD

I actually find them easier to use (blending is much harder in acrylic), it's the cleanup that's a pain in the neck. Once my aunt's cat walked across my painting and all over the rug. There was oil paint everwhere
Since then I've been painting with acrylic more.

Poor kitty. He was probably licking paint off his feet all week

Naw, she was fine. We cleaned the paint off right away and she's been right as rain ever since.

You know, throughout most of high school my art teachers always insisted on never using solid blacks in paintings like this since black doesn't exist in nature like in the painting, but I'm sure they'd still love this. Just in case the solid blacks aren't actually black, though, and merely resulted when you captured the image, I'm sure they'd still be impressed by the black, and the contrast that resulted, compared to the softness and delicateness of everything else.

Actually I would agree with them now, but at that point I had no teachers to tell me that. ha ha. If only there were more art teachers in the world!

By senior year in high school, I think all of my classes on one day were art classes, and I only had two or three classes the other day (we split up to eight classes into two days, and my art classes were on one day, with science, English, and math on the other)...? I dunno... I can't remember anymore...

Um...
Independent Art, Children's Art and Literature, lunch, an art class I can't remember at the moment, and Painting on 'A'days, I think (the first period and 3rd period class were by the same teacher, in the same room, second period class was the room across from first period class, and painting was right next to children's art and literature 4th period, all in the arts and communication building instead of the main building in the campus... the school sucks, but the campus is incredible), Science, and English, math on 'B'days, then I'd have lunch and leave early.

Well you're very lucky then! Our school was very small and there were only 14 people in my graduating class. They had an art teacher for the first time every when I was a junior/senior. So senior year I took my first art class and LOVED it. ever since then they haven't had anyone to teach art. It's quite sad.
But here in the states there are so many art classes that I couldn't wish for more! Wow! And all the different types! They even have art SCHOOLS! It spoils me!
I'm so glad you got to be in all those art classes. You must have learned so much!

There is a community college less than 5 minutes from the high school I went to, and people unfamiliar with the area always mistake it for part of the college... it's just massive. I mean, on average, there are about 3000 students. When I graduated, 600 of them were freshmen. I forget how many graduated in my class, though... only between 200-500, though, would be my guess.
Up here in Portland there are some good art schools is what I hear. The only one I really know is the Art Institute of Portland, though.

Culinary schools up here are some of the best in the country, but they're expensive and I can't afford it at the moment.

that's too bad. seems most schools have that problem lately :/
thankfully, while schools are the only way to earn a degree, they're not the only way to learn things

Thank you!

I looked at the paintings in your gallery too and I like the way you use color. It's really captivating.
