Description I thought to myself, my landscapes suck! So I decided to practice on my trip to San Diego to visit some friends.

This is watercolor and pen in my moleskine.

I love the colours, the greens and yellowed-browns look great together.

Thanks! I'm glad you like them. I'm a fan of the Daler-Rowney watercolors because they come out really vibrant.

Hey, thanks for the favorite too!

No problem. xD
I usually use Winsor&Newton whenever I paint with watercolours. I haven't heard of Daler-Rowney. Maybe I'll check it out after I finish these paints. ^^

Yeah, Winsor&Newton are great. I just like to use the Daler-Rowney pocket set because I love to make art as I travel. If I carry the pocket set([link] ), a couple extra brushes and pens, and a waterbottle, I can paint anywhere.

Painting when traveling...that seems wonderful. The most I do is draw with pencils/pens, sometimes with coloured pencils, if I had room and brought them with me. Painting would be very interesting, especially with all of the inspiration around.

It is wonderful. This summer I noticed I'd been sitting on a 3 month art-block, and realized I hadn't traveled anywhere in at least 6 months. So I made a trip down to San Diego for two days, and had a constant stream of ideas. I couldn't get them into my notepad fast enough. New places inspire new thinking.

I really do love watercolors when traveling. They dry fast, and you can layer them with other mediums. Sometimes I'll use pastel pencils or colored pencils on top of the watercolors (although you have to make sure they've fully dried) to give the drawings more texture and bring out certain colors. You could have fun with the pens on top too, or use Winsor&Newton's masking fluid under the watercolor.

I hope you try it out! Send me a link sometime if you do, I'd love to see what you make.

All right. Cx
I do like to work with multi-media, but I usually use soft pastels and coloured pencils. Watercolours I usually use by themselves. But I'll give it a try. ^^
