Description This is a quick warm-up piece for today. Whenever I draw Peter, I try (if the script allows) always to think of what makes him "New York." I sometimes think that Marvel try's to make him an average teenager, which he mostly is, and is not a bad idea, seeing as he'll be read/seen by people all over the world. But there's some New York down in there. One of the things I love most about New Yorkers is that they know how to get everywhere on public transportation. So I put Pete on a bus.

enjoy:}

Oh, I forgot to say, the BG is digital... I just don't have the time I guess....

I like that you're considering his hometown in his personality, it gets lost so much in the comics, so seeing this is nice, especially since I am from NYC=]

Yeah, I kept wanting to implement more and more of that into his character. This is not ideal for Disney/Marvel because they're not trying to appeal to New Yorkers, they have to appeal to the entire world (lofty bastards think too big sometimes.) But I kept thinking, everybody can relate to having pride in where you come from. This is handled better in the comics.
And thanks:]

yea man... I definitely think that once you set up a character and establish his culture and his way of being, it will either have mass appeal or it won't. Peter and NYC already have mass appeal so marrying the two only makes sense.

Thank you very much:} That's what I was going for. Lately, I enjoy doing drawings like these more than the action-y stuff. Perhaps it's because I do that stuff all day long:{

I don't know if I replied to this yet (sorry if I didn't...), yeah, I constantly want to put Peter Parker in situations that make him a "New Yorker." I think that it would build his character in a way that we've never seen, which is the best way to continue to build a character that is nearly 60 years old!

Oh, and the BG was digital:} Thanks for the comments.
