Description "It was decided that this must be the place where the Mega Ring is handed over. Something about making sure we never forget to set our sights as high as the sky."
--Korrina

I so loved the whole Tower of Mastery part in Pokemon X.  So much so that apparently I even convinced myself there was an extra cutscene after the battle.  And this apparently nonexistent cutscene went on to make me imagine a further moment where Serena and Lucario take a little time to ease up after their battle and share their dream for their journey together.

I know, I know... I'm a sucker for this stuff. XP

Anyway - Copics + way more time than I ever meant to spend on it (as always).

No kidding.  Everything about that whole sequence was just perfect.

This is so incredible! I really love the line quality, and the shading in your pokesona's hair looks gorgeous.

The shading on everything just looks really, really amazing. XD And what was it earlier you said about drawing skirts? Because you rocked it here! And that sky is sooo pretty! How on earth did you do the stars?? I feel like that'd be really hard to color and shade everything except a couple spots when you're using copic markers...

Haha!  The stars were easy - white ink after everything else is dry!

And I still mean what I said about skirts.  Like, the basics of it, sure, I can get.  But cross-folds or trying to give it any kind of dynamic and I'm done for.  I have some fabric-drawing tutorials though, that I really need to go and practice with some more.
And thanks!  Hair is probably always the most fun to shade, although I was really happy with the shading on the Lucario too on this one. ^^

Ah! I couldn't tell, it looks really good!

Cross-folds are tricky... I always start drawing them first, and then draw the pleats over them.

Lucario looks really great here too, and I just realized - did you have to do anything special when you were shading the part on his face where the markings change from blue to black? I know it's easy to do that digitally.... But thinking about it now, doing that with markers could be tricky! XD

The blue/black border?  I really just colored one, then waited for it to dry before going back for the other.  (Waiting for stuff to dry is the hardest part about drawing with markers I think.... I'm waaay too impatient. TT)

But yeah, I actually really like the look of the two colors next to each other like that without inking any lines.  I like how clean it turned out. ^^

It really came out good. I never really learned how to use markers (I just had a smattering of odd prismacolors, anyhow).

Lol.  I don't know if I ever really "learned how."  Well, okay, I looked up a couple tutorials, but I've just been figuring it out as I go.  BUT.... I did used to do a lot of watercolor, and honestly, copics kinda have a similar feel, so i think that helps too.

*nods* Well it's beyond impressive. I have huge respect for you for using traditional media... I am way too scared of ruining a picture, I feel much safer sticking with digital. ^^

Wow, really pretty and sweet! The sky and the rest of the backdrop s looking pretty awesome but I think I like most how you can just tell in their eyes that they are looking forward to the adventure ahead and just all determined and inspired themselves. Also that Lucario is flippin' adorable. Serena looks pretty and you did well at capturing the trainer clothes and all!

Nice job on the perspective - balconies are killer to pull off but I think you did well!
Also like the poses. Serena's is pretty daring having both legs over the balcony like that - but must feel really awesome especially when looking up at the sky...and with nothing below the feet perhaps feels more like soaring up there hm?
Lucario's pose just makes me want to brush my teeth because it is so sweet. Those paws are adorable ah!

Oh and the coloring is great! Makes me want to go color...

Yay thank you!  And yeah, somehow I felt it was appropriate to put Serena here for once, rather than my self-insert.  And I really do love her character design too.  And yeah.......sitting like that, Serena is definitely not me. XP

And go color!
