A friend of mine needed a present for her riding instructor so she asked me if I could draw one of the riding instructors horses. It ended up beeing two horses because I found the one on top alone a bit boring and loved the other horses expression. Their names are Mighty and Bo. In case you are interested here is a video of Mighty in action: [link]As a thank you my friend will take me to the stable and I will get a riding lesson. I'm so looking forward to it, I didn't have any contact with these beautiful creatues in far too long.
I need to draw animals more often! It's not even funny how few I know about drawing them.

i seriously did not know western was that popular in germany...lol. i only ever think about people being that into riding western in the US
trail classes are a lot of fun, i used to ride western a lot when i was younger, now just english pretty much!
anyway this is great, that top one looks just like him!

As far as I know it isn't really popular here. While there are more and more western riders, the biggest part is still english. Even if I can't really talk from experience I think I would prefer western but at the moment I'm happy if I could find any good riding instructor close to my home, no matter for which one of the two.

oh, i just saw the video and there seemed to be a lot of people there. i guess i should've said i didn't know it was as well known there
i actually started out english and then switched to western and then switched back again hahah. i still ride western every now and then though
i just like to jump a lot
i would totally ride western if i got an opportunity to gymkhana again though, i used to love barrel racing

Horses are great animals and friends. Hope your lesson will show you the fantasic thing about these georgios animals!!! Your drawing make me wish that I knew these horses.. Beautyful work!!

They are great! I can't say that I know much about them, but they are stunning animals to look at and seem to be great to work with. I'm so looking forward to seeing them in real!

Yes, he was amazing! The highlight from the whole day. In the end he had like 12 horses with him, every single one was completely free but they still did what he wanted them to do. It was very impressive and beautiful to watch, especially after seeing all these show jumpers whose riding isn't always that nice for the poor horses. One really cute moment was, when he was standing on two horses and fell off. Both horses immediately stopped, turned and went back to him. Something like this is just great to see!
