Description This is a stone sculpture of Eve that I did some work on. Most of the beginning carving was done by Abraham Mohler, and I helped with refining anatomy and detailing. It is sometimes nice to leave some roughly hewn areas of the sculpture, so it's not mistaken for a cast material.
This was carved from a polished, round stone column, not a rough stone. It was interesting to see a column made into something else. Not perfectly certain what kind of stone this is. We were told it's a chinese marble, but whatever it is, it's extremely dense and lots of hard "pebbles" in the mix that made it kind of annoying to carve. On the positive side it accepts a lot of detail and texture. photos by me

That is some superlative recycling. There ought to be an award for such innovative saving of dump space in producing such spectacular sculpture. The inclusions in the main stone make for a beautiful effect on the stone seductress' skin, as observer, the difficulty in managing the dense pebbles very much paid off. i love the pose. There are so many suggestive elements in the look of the lady, her particular pose, the way she seems to be doing the "coochie coochie coo" to the serpent -- as if it is an impatient pet and she is doing a bit of snake charming to have it keeps its shirt on until she is ready to put her pet plaything into play.

Beautiful work! You guys are doing great on that. I've had some experience with stone myself, and its never an easy process.
