Description

Pier Fifty; Mal., Fed. of IARA.

In the heyday of the sepia postcard the Crucian excursion ship is already something of an anachronism. Here we see three of them in a rare show of presence on a necessarily lazy evening. 'Stark Fifty', as the pier is fittingly dubbed, is infamous for bearing the brunt of the northerlies, and not even the doughtiest of crews would consider a rope mooring in lively weather.

The general lines of this ship are really important to me, and took lots of staring into space to refine. I have dreams for it, but they'll take time to realise. Just sharing for now.. Thanks for viewing

Thanks!! I photographed a paper sketch to keep the texture when adding details.

Thanks!! I used to go for evening runs by a naval pier and thought it'd be interesting to have an airship loom ahead for a change.

That sounds most interesting in itself. That you re-imagined it for airships is just that much cooler.

Yes, it really made a mark on me. The carriers and LHDs especially were really impressive on the rare occasions they stopped by. Haha I don't know, I just tend to 'see' great airborne objects everywhere I go..
