Huh, both of my favorite poems are related to trees. Trees by Joyce Kilmer is also a poem that I discovered back in high school as well. Read it from a short novel called Dear Mr. Kilmer by Anne Schraff. The poem is about the persona explaining about his how small and weak he is and his creations(poems) and how beautiful a tree is bc it was created by God. The persona explains how humble he towards gGod and is creations is by calling himself "fools like me". I really admire the poem and author as well. Fun fact, Joyce Kilmer served in WW1 in 1917 and died in service in Europe. He was also considered the next generation of poem authors during the time.

and, don't mind peridot there XD She's just admiring the tree ^w^
