The moment of sadness is so strong in your piece. Really makes me want to comfort the poor boy. The shadow of something evil growing makes it all the more powerful. Well done and I hope people react to the piece in the defense of children.

Thankyou very much! I just really wanted to convey that churning inner torment; part exhaustion, part-self-disgust that you feel when you've walked away from undue punishment.
Yet in terms of "the shadow of something evil" you've hit the nail on the head. It could be the guy's own sense of evil and revenge growing, or it could be the gravity of his victimising situation, either way I think it's an ambiguous visual metaphor that works in a few ways. I'm happy with that, even if it's almost half a decade old now!

Great art is timeless. Half a decade = nothing

This piece would be perfect for a new project we are developing -- an online gallery for artists who have been bullied or who explore the theme of bullying in their work. It's called the You Will Rise Project. Check it out here: [link] and let us know if you would be willing to share this piece on the site. Read the "Submit Your Work" section of the site for details. Thanks!
