There is no doubt about it. Gengar has one of the most disappointing shinies ever. It is so subtle that if it didn't sparkle, you'd no doubt miss it. However, the shiny changes drastically thanks to Gen's 6 and 8, changing it to a chalk white. Not sure which is better though, Mega Evolution or G-Max since they both look so cool.
Anyway, similar to Gribominable, G-Max Gengar raids began popping up and I had never gotten one of my own so I battled some. At this point in time, I was not expecting anything out of the ordinary, just more collecting. That is until I came upon a random shiny, taking me completely by surprise. However, just like with Grimmsnarl, the Gengar escaped my grasp and disappeared. It didn't take long to find another and, just like with Gribominable, I used a Repeat Ball.
Because Gigantimax Gengar resembles a Tunnel of Doom, I named him White Doom (a possible reference to Black Doom from Shadow the Hedgehog). He is so cool! Super speedy and hits hard. This was the Pokémon to win me another Battle Tower bout wth Leon, outspeeding his Charizard and knocking it out with a Shadow Ball.
