Personality :
   Living her childhood with Akihiko for a while (she lived near his orphanage), she grew to become somewhat aggressive. Other than that, she is a confident individual but quite laid-back. She's not much on the charming side; as to not attract too much attention from others; generally she is actually quite passive and indifferent. But if one is to break her psyche lock, she will be very open, protective of that person. But despite being passive, when she's with company she's usually seen laughing out loud and always smiling. But her bad personality is that she is easily irritated and angered. She has the tendency to swear and become very vengeful. There are times when she doesn't mean to say things, but nonetheless hurts people, but having a good side in her mind, she would make up for anything done wrong unless she was too mad at certain people, she makes it a point to torment them. Apparently, she thinks herself to have a split personality.

Biography :
   She was born in a strange but rich family with a somewhat dark past and present with her parents, her grandfather, a live in uncle and a younger cousin in in Port Island. Since she was very young she could witness the Dark Hour but never really know what it actually was. Scared, she never went out after dark, even for family dinners she would be terribly petrified to go out into the darkness due to the Dark Hour. One day when she was eight, she decided to ask her father about what happens at midnight. She soon came to realize at 10 that her father was hiding something along with her uncle; and it was making her and her cousin (they both can witness the Dark Hour) more frightened than they ever were. She asked her mother, and also, she hid whatever she knew about the Dark Hour and always shrugged or said 'I don't know' and stayed quiet. Weeks later she gave up asking, and just went to live in fear of that darkness.

   These events troubled her deeply, but she never opened up to anyone except her family. She was afraid that nobody would believe what's happening, so she hid that trouble by being aggressive and upbeat as she tries to be sociable with others as a scapegoat from her fear. Because of this per parents were deliberating whether to tell her what's really going on or not.

   One night (when she was 11) they were on their way home from an out of town family trip the car broke down in the middle of the road. The Dark Hour again approached them, turning their surroundings as horrifying as she saw them before. Strange sounds seemed to follow them and her uncle seemed to have sensed a presence. Telling her and her cousin to stay in the car, her father and uncle took out guns. Horrified, but she couldn't close her eyes nor look back. She was frozen with shock, and saw strange black entities with strange masks. Tears filled her eyes as her father brought up the gun to his head and shot himself. Scared too much, she closed her eyes; but she noticed that her father was still alive, this time holding a katana she never expected. She couldn't comprehend the situation, but she could see a faint figure of some strange spiritual being in front of her father. Another entity appeared and this time it was her uncle; she watched them fend off the strange, masked, black blobs in fear and amazement. Her mother was too witnessed it, but her cousin fainted in fear. As soon as she thought it was over, her father was attacked. She rushed out of the car and held the gun, trying to shoot the being; but no bullets would come out. As she held the gun, she felt a strange surge inside her body, like her blood rushing painfully. She heard voices, telling her to imitate what her father just did. Without a choice, in the strong will to survive the attack and protect her family from being killed if ever by the black thing, she pulled the trigger and awakened Samael. But the power was too much for her small body she fainted in fatigue, leaving her uncle to finish it off.

   Her parents and uncle despaired that she had awoken her persona, as her father and uncle themselves were persona users as well. Her mother said they should really tell her what's going on, but broadly; now that she has awaken her power. They looked after her while she was in the hospital, and waited for her to wake up. Once she did, she was given more time to rest. A month after, her father and her uncle tried their best to explain what happened that night and what happens every night. She didn't believe it at first until they pointed out about what she did with the gun and awakened a power within her, that MAY have been inherited from her father. Strangely enough actually, because personae are not passed down. That time on, she had basic knowledge about the Dark hour and a persona. But her family gave her a STRONG warning that she was NEVER to use it EVERY NIGHT. Not the evoker nor the persona. Only when there is a need to defend herself during the Dark Hour. Other than that, if there was nothing important, she never went out ever again after ten in the evening. Also, because she was still studying, she was warned NEVER to get close to anyone with the name of Kirijo; or she'll be in very deep trouble. When she was in her Freshman year in Gekkoukan School, she lost track of time and came home late. Luckily, her father let her borrow the 'gun' he used years ago just in case she would come home late. Yet again, she was attacked by a group of black, gooey, masses. In order to protect herself again, that was the second time she had summoned Samael, and was spotted by her very close childhood friend, Akihiko Sanada, and was invited to join S.E.E.S. Unsure of what to reply, she went to ask her father. (Who had great knowledge of S.E.E.S and the Kirijo Group)

   Daisuke Kurokawa, despite knowing Akihiko for a while, would not let Kei go join him. Being still somewhat naive about what's happening, she asked why she couldn't go with her childhood friend. 'You just shouldn't! It's much too dangerous for you!' was the only reply. But despite all their efforts to make her join, the idea was still a no-no for Daisuke, and apologized to Akihiko. Kei, asking why she couldn't be allowed, was only told that she was in enough danger already and that joining SEES would add up to the danger a hundredfold.

   Knowing she hold a persona, she keeps it to herself and to nobody else. Even with this, she still lives normally as a student. But she's having still some second thoughts on joining SEES. Nonetheless, she still isn't a member, but because she has the potential, she stays at their dorm.
