thanks!
This is a 30 second exposure, shot at ISO 3200. It helps to shoot wide open (biggest aperture/lowest "f" stop - this was shot at 2.8) to allow the most light in as possible. Lastly, its important to shoot in RAW as it allows the most options in post and in reducing noise. let me know if yo uhave any questions!

I love your night shots but I feel like they would profit from a little less noise reduction or maybe a different program to do so. Some really look a little washed out which takes from them. I'd prefer something like Topaz deNoise or Noise Ninja - which is freeware I think.

Other than that this shot is absolutely magnificent.

Thank you! i appreciate the constructive criticism. I'm still pretty new to night/astro photography so i'm still dialing in & tweaking to get best results! I will definitely check out those programs, thanks again

super shot! i'll have to try it for myself, just to see if i can get something half as nice as this!

i'm sure it can get a little weird out there that late at night, there is nothing out there but cows and coyotes!

thanks so much! haha yes, I've had run-ins with cattle, horses and here at the VLA I had some curious antelope wander up but thankfully nothing to threatening
