Muffled shouts and blasterfire were the only things she could hear before she blacked out again. She opened her eyes and saw she was inside the U-Wing on a makeshift bed. The interior looked like it took some damage. Her vision was still a bit blurry but she can make out another figure on a bed a few feet from her. On the other bed, one of the new recruits, Janelau "Frost" Maggfrost. Frost was groggy. A moment later, she saw someone's blurry hand in front of her. She let her eyes focus a bit and saw her C.O, and role model, Rima Aki. "Rookie. Hey, Rookie. How many fingers am I holding up?" Frost is still dazed and gave a weak response "Uhhh... Six?" Rima nodded "It's three but eh, close enough." She outstretched her hand "Come on, let's find out what the hell just happened." Frost took the offered hand and was pulled to her feet. Rima steadied her before inspecting Frost from head to toe. "Well, you look fine... by Marine standards anyway. Here, you'll need this." Rima handed her a DL-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol "It's better than nothing." Rima turned and took an EE-3 Carbine Rifle. She turned back to Frost and was about to say something before her comm started beeping. She pressed a button and a panicked voice "Is there anyone out there!? This is Raider 2-1 (static) My whole squad is gone! (static) This temple is a shit-show! There's something in here, we couldn't see 'em in the dark but they took my teammates out one by one (static) They pulled them into those vents and holes on the ground (static) We tried to go outside but something locked us in... Oh Force, what the hell are those? (static) There's a room filled with eggs, big eggs, what the hell is this place? Raiders 2-3, 2-4, and 2-5, do you copy? Anybody, come in! If anyone can hear this, the temple is north of the crash site. I repeat, north of the crash site." Rima decided to answer the comm "This is Raider Actual, I just woke up with Frost. We'll head to your position. Just find some place safe to dig in, we'll come find you." The voice let out a sigh of relief "Commander Aki!? Oh, thank the Force! I'm in a room with six beds, there are skeletons on the beds. Looks like there's no doors or anything." Rima nodded her head to Frost "Alright, sit tight Marine. We're heading to the temple now, Nexu Actual out." Rima opened the U-Wing's doors and was met with a gruesome sight. Above them were 5 bodies, strung up and skinned. Frost saw the hanging bodies and threw up on a nearby bush. Rima nearly lost her lunch too before spotting a broken Vanguard helmet. She saw the squad's number and dropped it back "These guys were Raider 2-5." Frost was shaking "What could... do such a thing?" Rima shooked her head and went for the temple. A few minutes later, the two Marines were walking on a stone road that lead to the temple. Two statues stand on either side of the temple's doors. The minute she saw the statue up close, she knew who this temple belongs to. As they walked, she had a feeling that they were being watched. She saw three dots on her chest before hearing a familiar sound. She grabbed pushed Frost back and dodged just as the area were she stood exploded. She stared at one of the statues and saw a set of glowing, yellow eyes. She turned to Frost and yelled "Run!" She ran to the temple's doors, Frost following her. They dodged blast after blast after blast of plasma before reaching the temple's stairs. The doors were about to seal and both of them just barely managed to slide under the descending doors. Rima coughed and stood up. She patted away the dust on her pants before looking up and seeing the statue "No. No fucking way." Frost turned to her C.O and saw the look of horror in her face "We have to get out of this temple... no, this planet, fast." The statue showed a Hunter, like the ones Rima encountered, fighting against the Nightmares she thought left behind on Nexos Base. Suddenly, she heard the all too familiar roar of the Hunter and a loud thus was heard behind her. She turned around just as the Hunter uncloaked itself. The moment they entered this planet, they were in for a whole different war.
