Description
The roar of engines, blaster fire, explosions and screams of agony were the things Rima hears every time she was deployed. But she can never get used to hearing the screams of friends and comrades as they met their end before, during, and after the battle. Inside the LAAT, she took note of the grim or frightened faces of her unit and wondered if they accepted the fact that they could die in any second or afraid that they could never see the ones they care about ever again. That they'll just be another body in the ground, beneath or inside the wreckage of a gunship or transport, a body beyond recognition or if there's even a body left to identify. She shook her head to clear these thoughts and turned to address the Marines. "Alright, Listen up! The only thing we have to do is keep ourselves from getting killed when we land in the beach, that's the closest we can get without getting blasted to hell but as you can hear from the noise outside, it doesn't matter where we are cause we're gonna get blown up anyway. When we get there, I need mortar crews to set up and target those AA Turrets and other emplacements. Use whatever cover you can find so you won't get hit easily by those snipers and turret emplacements. Once this beach is secured, we'll take the fight to the trees so expect this to be a long and brutal battle Marines." As soon as she finished her statement, the pilot commed that they have touch downed and ready to deploy. "Green Light! Green Light! Marines follow me!" Rima ordered and dropped down the LAAT, running to find the nearest cover and the Marines following suit. As the last of the Marines were deployed and the LAAT was lifting off, the transport exploded before it could safely get away. Rima chose addressed the Marines "Forget about the wreckage just find cover and set up those mortars so we can take out those turrets." She heard a body drop beside her and saw one of the mortar's crew member was dead. Turning to the remaining members, she said "You two, follow me. I'll be this guy's replacement." When the two marines picked up the mortar, Rima brought out her DC-17m blaster and ran for cover. Before she could reach a downed AT-ST, the Clone Marine next to her got shot on the side of the head by a sniper, his partner widening her eyes as the body fell down. Rima fired some shots back to suppress the sniper, she then continued on to the wreckage with the remaining marine. Rima kneeled by the wreckage and told the marine to set the mortar here. She peeked her head and tagged the turrets' locations, sending the coordinates to the rest of the mortars by their comms. When the Marines got the designated positions locked on, they released a barrage of mortar shells that decimated and even brought one of the balconies falling to the beach. When the emplacements were destroyed, the rest of the Marines moved to secure the beach. Rima stood up and turned to the Marine "You're the only one left from your squad, I should probably send you back but you made it this far so why stop now. Come on, you're coming with me... " she let the sentence hang to let the marine introduce herself "S-Seris Sha, ma'am." Seris said with a shaky voice. Rima nodded."Alright Seris, I want you to watch my back when we take the fight to the trees." Seris nodded "Understood, ma'am."
