#6 in a series of pictures I took for a high school photography project, in Canmore, Alberta, Canada.

I attempted to meld traditional photography and digital photography by editing all of the images of the set in Photoshop. This is mainly in protest of photographers who do not consider image manipulation to be real photography, to which I strongly disagree. In my opinion a digital dark room is no different than a physical one, and images edited in both should be treated equal.

The manipulation of the images attempts to emphasize certain aspects or subjects by use of desaturation. The lack of color in one area of the image will bring out the colors of another, or draw the eye to aspects that wouldn't be otherwise noticed.
