Maybe not in the actual game but it would make an awesome mod! Difficult to code but post it as a suggestion in the modding section in the minecraft forums and see if you get a response!

I agree, I don't really think that this would fit into Minecraft, only because it's too complicated and has too many steps, not to mention that mobs would have to be reprogrammed to actually go stand at the microphone and not attack you.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great idea, I just don't think I would spend the time to craft all of that, and I imagine the mechanism for mixing sound effects would be difficult to use.

I'm just a fan of creative redstone circuits to make music, I guess.

I think this would be good as a mod maybe or as an optional feature, but I for one wouldn't use it and i dont think a lot of people would. Minecraft is a game about BUILDING, and noteblocks happen to be a way of building. If there was a way to mix records in order to actualy BUILD something, this might be a good thing to add.

In all seriousness (possibly too much seriousness ;E) though, while this is certainly creative, it strikes me as a very different type of creativity than Minecraft's. If the game were more crafting-focused, I could see this as an easily-integrated mod; however, crafting items takes the back seat to the elaborate constructions and circuits. Items are rarely the end product of a process in Minecraft; they are used to facilitate block production.

To illustrate my point about types of creativity, I like to write my own computer programs; while this is definitely a creative endeavor, it would be bad form to discuss my code in a forum dedicated to watercolor painting. While I personally would really love to see a programmable redstone microprocessor with numerous types of signal flags and commands in Minecrafft, it would seem extremely out-of-place and/or nigh-useless for everyone who is not a psychotic cyberfreak .

While I will say this is a good idea, probably an excellent idea, there are good ideas and there are ideas that should be implemented. Take it from the guy who has had hundreds of the former for every one of the latter, some things just do not fit with a project; this just seems like too much of a departure from what Minecraft already is. Hopefully this makes sense?
