After reigniting my love for Star Wars - The Old Republic, my Imperial Agent finally reached level 50 last week. To celebrate her awesome new prowess (and because I love making art of all my favorite game characters
) I decided to make some SWTOR fan art at last.So, here you see my Imperial Agent Cipher Nine prowling the roofs of Dromund Kaas - the capital planet of the Empire - with her favorite companion Vector Hyllus, probably out on an assignment for Imperial Intelligence. Playing as a sniper is a lot of fun in the game, and with Vector, my lady is an unstoppable force of DPS destruction.
When I created her in the game, I couldn't help myself to make her cute and freckled and sporting this lovely Princess-Leia-Memorial-Curls; I think most people simply underestimate her because of her kind and innocent looks until she starts sniping them from a distance, or hacks their computers for secret data.
I wanted to make an artwork like this for ages, and my Agent gave me the perfect opportunity to test this lighting and SciFi POV setting. The background is actually a modified game screenshot of Dromund Kaas, but everything else was once again created with Carrara and Photoshop. Fan art sometimes intimidates me because I really want things to look like their actual game/movie counterpart, but I think this time it all worked out. On to some Sith Warrior fan art, then!

Very nice. Of course, sometimes you have to do fan-art to make your characters look the way you WISH they did in-game. I found SWTOR game-play to be very cool, and the class-stories were a lot of fun, I just wish they'd made better costumes.

Well, if it comes to OCs I feel that fan art is pretty forgiving. For established characters, however, I'm my own worst enemy because they just have to look as close to the original as possible, and most of the times I fail to live up to that standard. Vector came out alright, though, so all is well.
I really like playing TOR, the different classes and skill trees making it very versatile and enjoyable. But you're right, you really have to put some work (and credits) into it to get your character some decent things to wear.Β

My primary character was L50 Jedi DPS (TK) Sage, the epic gear was mostly horrid. I heard that once again they redesigned the skill trees so I will someday have to update, login, and try the other DPS tree to see how it works as it was supposedly far easier than the Telekinetic tree I was on - which was very demanding on paying attention to timers and stuff. It was amusing how my old guild would complain that my damage stats never reached what they should have, but I was always pulling more agro than anyone but our tanks.
The story arcs and everything were a lot of fun. I'm an RPG gamer not really a MMO gamer so making leveling fun was more important to me than making the endgame fun. I keep wanting to go back and play through with my Sith, but after making so many friends on the Jedi side playing solo without anyone to chat at was boring.

SWTOR is the first MMO I actually like, and I guess that's because it plays more like a SP game... which is maybe not so great for an MMO, after all.

You'll love your agent even more after reaching lvl 35 and above, you'll get some great new skills then. Are you a sniper or an operative? I chose the sniper/marksman skill tree, and dealing all that DPS from afar is a lot of fun!

Oh wooooow! I love the lightning, Dromund Kaas is always gloomy but weirdly pretty.
I know where you're coming from with the Imperial Agent story, it's one of my favourite ones too. I team up with my friend's Sith Warrior and we cause havoc with Vector and Malavai together XD

'Gloomy but weirdly pretty' fits that planet perfectly. I started a Sith Warrior of my own a little while back, and I love taking Malavai out for her adventures - his healing comes in so handy. We have good taste in our companions!

I like the rain effects especially. Dromund Kaas is just so cool. Vector is the bug-influenced guy, right?
I know a couple people online who are doing a Sith Warrior-Inquisitor team up playthrough together. They're both playing lightside (the warrior a bit more than the inquisitor), and they're both very silly.

I just got my agent to level 55 a few days ago, and i loved the ending i got. agent story definitely one of the best!!
Also you have vector, that makes you awesome, (even though you already are)! A lot of people dont like Vector, but he's just.. <3 >.> hehe..

Amazing mood and great composition. I love the colours, the rain, the neon lights... I had a slight problem with Vector's eyes looking like black holes but then I realised that he has strange eyes. Even so I keep yearning for a slight reflection in them. Meh.
Anyway, nothing wrong this cute, freckled and sporting. It lures the enemy into a false sense of security.
You shouldn't let fan art intimidate you. It's fine to make the characters look exactly like in the game but it's also nice to put your own spin on them. I always enjoy trying to find a balance between the original and my own interpretation. I want them to be recognisable but my own. This is why Mouser and Duncan frustrated me so much, until I put the beard on Duncan.
