Some of you know my friend Mike had a very very sick ferret named Freddy. He was put on meds and had almost done a complete 180 in recovery. Somehow, tragedy struck my friend this past Friday when he got up to give Freddy his medicine and found him lying still in his favorite octopus.

When I lost my cat Sevvy back in February, Mike told me of a website called the Rainbow Bridge which is a huge forum full of nice people to help you with the grief you are feeling from losing your pet. The support group there has helped me a lot and in return I wanted to do something for him and this came to mind.
About this time last year, Freddy's "brother" Herbie fell ill and died with no warning and he was devastated. I hope this will comfort him to know that even though Freddy is gone from this world, he is at the Rainbow Bridge right now where Herbie was beside himself with joy to see his buddy again. Heaven has another little clown to make the angels laugh. Now they live on eternally at the Rainbow Bridge-together.
Rest in Peace Freddy and Herbie. You will be missed.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Also: Ferrets are hard to draw! This is my first time trying them. They're not just a few solid colors, but 4 or 5 colors blended together and I don't think I acheived that look 100% but I was willing to try for my friend.
