Description Another wallpaper of the uber-awesome miniseries 'Alice'. This is Hatter (duh), and it's basically an edited screenshot from the movie in the Hatter's flat. I was re-watching the movie when this scene appeared, and I just loved how Wonderland shows itself through the door with Hatter standing beside it. It makes for a great wallpaper, I thought, so here it is

What do you think about it? The whole piece? Sorry if the size is kinda weird, cause my laptop screen is weird. If you want a specific size, you can ask me for it or edit it in photoshop Thanks!

Alice and the screenshot belongs to the SyFy Channel and its creators.

Ooooh, I saw this! A friend recommended it, it was kind of hard to find here, since Germany is a bit....slow with stuff....sometimes. It was cool! And this is really nicely done. *envy* X3

Yup. I was in Japan from 2005 - 2006 and from 2009 - 2010. Thus all the Japan-photos. But I live in Hamburg, Germany. If you ever get the chance to go, tell me, and we can meet up or whatever, I'm a good guide.

First time it was on a student exchange, I visited a japanese high school and all that.
Then I just went by myself with a Working Holiday Visa. Which was kind of stupid, looking back on it, but I was extremely lucky and got some decent jobs there so I could save money and then traveled around for the last 2 months I stayed there.

Wow That's impressive...and awesome! It's a great thing to have that kind of guts to take the risk and go around places...

Nah, it was more out of curiousity. And looking back, it was mostly also because I usually don't plan far ahead. Or plan at all. I just kind of stumbled into the whole thing and I was lucky it turned out this great. XD
In German you say "Mehr GlΓΌck als Verstand" = "More luck than judgment" and it totally applies to me.

Spontaneous actions leads to awesome accidents sometimes! You've got one heck of a luck!
That's a nice quote...now how do you pronounce that in German? It's so tough speaking your language... (I settled for French class)

Haha, yes, I'm a good one for that. I am never on time and I always manage to do something stupid, but sometimes that gives me new opportunities.
Oh god, uuhh... I am really bad with phonetic spelling... sorry. XD
It does mean "more luck than brains" literally, though so...it is very similar to what you say in English, I think? O_o
French? Cool! I took Latin in school, so... no French. But I am not sure I could master French anyway, I would like to learn Spanish properly sometime, since the crap I learned at school isn't very useful. And Italian, haha. XD Someday... maybe.

No probs. I guess it is!
How nice, you got Latin class! *envies*
Aw, come one. Germans could learn French easily, just as French can learn German...or is it? Italian and Spanish would be awesome to learn! I wanna learn Spanish first though, cause it's used a lot around the world
But first...perefct my mandarin....

VergesseneTraenen In reply to kaboomduck [2012-02-24 22:42:50 +0000 UTC]

WOW you speak Mandarin? That's amazing. Chinese is incredibly difficult, no?
Latin....can't remember much of it. It's a dead language and you never get to speak it, so... you forget it soon.
That's what they say, but personally....I just don't like the sound of French all that much. :S I think Italian is cooler.
Yes, and Spanish, as you say... it's kind of handy!

kaboomduck In reply to VergesseneTraenen [2012-02-26 07:01:29 +0000 UTC]

That's just cause I'm Chinese-Indonesian, so it's like my mother-tongue. Yeah, it is! I can only speak mandarin, but can't write or read...is that weird?

Hahaha, Latin is interesting...but like you said, it's kinda useless in life.
If only my school had German or Spanish instead of French...it's fun when you start, but it gets annoying, especially during listening tests, when you're constantly praying that the French guy/woman would just SLOW DOWN. They speak too fast...
Italian is cool! And the accent's fun.

That is lucky. I wish I had a second mother-tongue, stupid useless German, haha. XD

Writing is probably harder to learn that speaking, isn't it? O_o I tried to have a look at chinese writing....but soon gave up, in Japanese there's at least some "alphabet" plus the additional chinese signs. So if I do not know the kanji, I can just write it in Japanese alphabet... people will still know what I mean. But in Chinese....you're screwed if you don't know how to write it.... XD

But German sounds awesome...at least in movies

It depends, I guess...cause it's different for each person!
That's why they say learning Japanese is really, really easy if you know Chinese, cause the characters are all the same, only the pronounciation is different They also say that spending a year in China would force you to learn Chinese easily though.

VergesseneTraenen In reply to kaboomduck [2012-02-29 01:05:51 +0000 UTC]

It does, you think? O_o Most people just say it sounds harsh and angry. XD

Actually I found many people in Japan who were from China had a hard time, because of all the "false Friends" in the language....I don't know if that is accurate, though!

That is probably true! I'd love to go to China, but I would really want to learn some basic Chinese before that. I hate being a stupid tourist not understanding the language at all. XD

kaboomduck In reply to VergesseneTraenen [2012-03-02 12:46:49 +0000 UTC]

Really? I think it sound cool, like it has personality Unlike French, which just sounds like some guy rambling off a mile a minute

Hmmm, that is true, I guess. At least that's what people had said. But Chinese does make learning Japanese easier!

There's the best method of communicating in China - sign language. Just use your hands to point around and gesture actions. That's what we've done, cause my Chinese is also pretty rough compared to mainland China's.

Haha, yes for some odd reason I do no think French is that beautiful, like everyone is always saying.... :S
Well, German CAN sound nice, like.... Goethe or whatever, but altogether....I guess I still prefer English from the sound of the words. German is great to be exact, because we have tons of words when there is only one word matching in English sometimes... hmm....if that makes sense?

kaboomduck In reply to VergesseneTraenen [2012-03-04 05:14:29 +0000 UTC]

English is still the best, I guess. There's tons of things you can do with the language! That does make sense! Happens too in French. It's annoying.

Oh, shoot, hold on a second, I thought you were commenting on another wallpaper. Stupid me

For this one, I just played around with the blending modes and layers. And decided on bringing out a cooler tone cause it fits the picture. I tried to change the mood cause the screenshot was too bland and meaningless

Sorry for the wrong reply

Well, I liked this scene, especially these two shots here. At first, I just thought about putting the library(?) as the wallpaper, but then it'd look too plain, so I added in Hatter and Alice from that shot.
