Description This is the largest original piece I have ever done that was not a school assignment... measuring 20"x40" on illustration board, this piece was done in acrylic paints, Tria markers, and Prismacolor pencils, with minimal Micron outlining for the lettering on her jacket only...

Approximate time taken - 30-35 hours... over one week of really hard work ^.^..

I used some photo reference for the bridge, and I bought a book on racing bikes to design her bike and uniform.. and the tail fastened to her leg for safety is an homage to one of my friend Roy Pounds' ideas .

Ace the jackal is © 2006 Kacey Miyagami

Look for the original in the art show at Further Confusion 2006!

Oh, very cool. I like how her tail is strapped to her leg so it won't blow around crazily when she is driving. A very complete looking piece.

I've never sold artwork before but $200 bucks seems like kinda a steal. But then again, people aren't loaded either.
To me this piece is priceless, and this may well be your best work to date, so if I was you, I probably wouldn't be able to part with it.

THAT ROCKS OUT LOUD!! I have a big super bike and thats one of the most detailed drawings of one I've seen, plus love the idea of the tail being secured!

Another fantastic piece! What could I say that I haven't already?
Wonderful details, especially on the clothing and the motorcycle, beautiful background and composition, excellant and amazingly realistic shading...
Well, even if I'm repeating myself, I just want to let you know I really admire your work.

Oh, and I adore how you thought of the tail! I'm sure a lot of artists, including myself would have probably drawn the tail without any gear, but it must really feel weird if it is being pulled in the wind. Great thinking!

most fantastic! i love it all, and give credit to your friend Roy Pound, thats a idea! i been trying to figure out a way to 'strap that tail' for ages.

cant work out what bike you have used for refference, japanese straight four sports, 2005-06, model of some sort.

anyways fantastic!

The bike is based on the Honda CBR600FS - except I modified the side mirrors and the turn signals, because I had an idea for them that I liked.... and I changed the paint job and the logos, etc. I dont want to get in trouble with Honda

anubis-ayani In reply to KaceyM [2006-02-09 18:53:00 +0000 UTC]

well done, looks good, i think keeping the colour scheme/panels would have been ok, dropping the logos was a good idea for copyright reasons. still a fantastic image!

i suggest you get your friend mr. Pound to get a copyright on his =RP-Tail-Strap= lol!!!!

I adore the city lights in the background, the bike is gorgeous and the character looks like she fits so easily into all of it... I can tell how much work you put into this, and I hope that you get an assload of money for it

KaceyM In reply to SirMartin1 [2006-01-11 07:23:39 +0000 UTC]

Oh yeah - and the bridge I used for reference is an actual bridge in Japan - but the city skyline is my own design

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SirMartin1 In reply to KaceyM [2006-01-11 20:08:47 +0000 UTC]

cooooooooooooooooool theyre famous for their architectural designs in bridges for a number of reasons

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

KaceyM In reply to SirMartin1 [2006-01-11 07:22:39 +0000 UTC]

The bike is based off of a Honda - originally the turn signal lights were lower on the body, and the side mirrors were smaller - but I beefed those up and put the turn signals on them because I thought the design would be cooler - I obviously also changed the markings on the bike - I dont want to get in trouble with Honda ^.^,

A daily deviation would be fun ... Prints are available if you want them - I haven't printed any yet, but I'll likely crop the sky a bit to get the ratio more like that of the paper... to avoid the 'letterbox' effect.... they'd be $10 each ... if you want one, email me at kacey@otonashi.net

and thanks for the fav and the comment!

This is friken amazing!! Oh my god, I'm speechless!

The bike is perfectly accurate. I love the way you've wrinkled the outfit, and the strap holding the tail in is a cute touch, not to mention the background is incredible too. The face is perfect!

When I see pictures like this, I have a difficult time mentioning everything great about it.

Thanks so much!... I was so afraid that after the amount of time I put into a piece this size, that it would turn out all wrong because I'm used to working smaller... It took a long time but I'm really happy I did it

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

creaturecorp In reply to KaceyM [2006-02-03 05:50:15 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I've noticed that working larger makes things more difficult.

Wow! That's impressively large! o_o I hate framing things that large. ^_^ Heh! I wish I could draw stuff that big but my arthritis would tell me no.

I love the sparklies. ^_^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KaceyM In reply to nadiaromanova [2006-01-11 07:27:25 +0000 UTC]

I didn't know you had arthritis .. That must make it really difficult to draw... is there any kind of treatment you can do for it?

Yeah the lights were fun .. I probably should have made the background more blurry/out of focus, but I'm not sure if I could have pulled that off... its something to think about for a later pic, though....

I'm kindof worried about how much the framers are going to charge - its probably going to be at least $200 @.@... but eh - even if it doesn't sell, I am going to put it on my wall and enjoy it
