i always imagined weed as an affectionate little dude..(also posted on my FA account)

"Tell me about your dad, Dad!" Weed exclaimed, wagging his tail excitedly. He had never been told the full story of his grandfather before, only that he was killed when Akakabuto was finally defeated.

Gin chuckled. "He was a true male, Weed. Not long after I was born, I saw him killed by Akakabuto... or so I thought. When I was your age, I found a pack of stray dogs; they took me to their leader, and I was shocked to learn it was my father. He had survived, but he had lost all of his memories. He didn't know I was his son."

Weed's ears dropped and his tail ceased its wagging. "So he didn't remember you?"

Gin nodded. "I called him father and he laughed and said he wasn't, but deep down I knew he was. Right before the fight against Akakabuto he regained his memories; I didn't get to spend much time with him, but before he died he acknowledged me as his son.."

Gin looked away for a moment, holding back tears from remembering his father's death. Weed, picking up on his father's sadness, rested his head on his father's broad shoulder.

"I'm glad to still have such a great father."

Gin, touched, turned his head and smiled, eyes still shining from his tears. "I'm glad to have such a great son and leader."
