Description ** IMORTANT!!! Read the text file first to ensure optimal results. **

I loved the Cornell style class notes layout, so I thought I'd update it a bit with a clean, modern look. Perfect for taking notes in class.

In the .zip file you will find a printable PDF file as well as an iWork Pages Template. Again, read the included text file to ensure you get desirable printing results as well as ideal results in Pages.

** UPDATE 08/25/10 **
I have updated the zip file to include a left justified page so you can print both front and back and still have the room on the side for a three hole punch binder/folder.

Anyone using this who has any ideas for improvements, feel free to share them with me and I will do what I can to make improvements.

** UPDATE 11/22/10 **
Now includes a front and back GRAPH sheet for math/science note taking.

** UPDATE 01/21/11 **
In response to an excellent suggestion, I have added two more PDF files to the download. These are alternative back of sheet printouts for both the standard and graph versions. In these versions the Main Points and Notes areas have swapped positions in order to make taking notes easier when using a three ring binder.

Best template I've found on the web, and it even has a graph version! Excellent work my friend, you saved me the trouble of making a set myself since I don't like anything else I've seen.

I appreciate the gray boxes; it looks nice. But I was thinking it'd be nice to have alternative versions with a plain background. Just a thought.

When I print it out, the boxes have a light gray shade. Could you make it white instead in order to save on printer ink?

Well it is like that for a reason. Psychologically it helps draw your eyes there. The best thing to do is to just print out one copy and then just photocopy a bunch. If you do that, you'll end up saving crap load of money doing the photocopies rather than printing out and using all that ink. (Especially if you can get free photocopies from work or someone you know).

Thanks! Hope ya like! I was thinking about having them bound into notebooks one day. If I ever get the startup capital for that I will. All proceeds will go to help pay for my fiance's cancer treatments.

Glad ya like them! Hope they help.

Well hell... if ya know anyone in the printing industry lemme know. I have a great idea on how to print & bind them as well as how to sell them.

Perfect job. Though can I request one thing?

For the back page, could you swap the positions of the notes and the main points?
It gets kinda tough writing into the binder rings.

As you wish...

Please download the .zip file again and now you will notice two more PDF files ending in "Alt Back". There you will find the changes you suggested reflected in both the standard and graph version of the notes.

Enjoy!

Is there a way to make a Pages template that does both right and left justifications?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

kahil In reply to likeafox11 [2010-08-31 23:03:02 +0000 UTC]

I can try to make one when I get a lil extra time. It will basically be two separate templates I think... Unless I can make it automatically add two pages when you tell it to. I'm pretty sure there isn't a way to make it alternate. I'll see what I can do for ya. Spread the word on these notes will ya.

Ok, I have updated the zip file so that it includes a front and back pdf file.

Great work, loving it already!

Just one plea, if you have the time to do it:

Could you please lose the purpleish tint between the lines, and just make it plain black and white? i would be grateful. Thanks upfront! Keep up the good work!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

kahil In reply to mariachi19 [2010-08-22 19:37:26 +0000 UTC]

it isn't purple...just a light grey... it just looks purple most likely due to the color settings of your monitor. i promise that once you print them out, it will look like a very light grey. I did that for a psychological reason. having that slight color difference draws the eyes to those sections which heightens retention.

FYI... if you save your class notes into lil pamphlets, you can totally sell them to classmates for some extra beer/party/whatever cash. if you take good notes that is...lol
